HBS, Europe’s leading audiovisual production company, has been selected for three of the five designated blocks, while Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales (TSA) will be responsible for one other
The Management Control Body for Audiovisual Rights at LALIGA has ratified the decision made by executives from the various departments involved in the selection process for the companies that will manage the audiovisual production of LALIGA EA SPORTS, LALIGA HYPERMOTION, and related competition content for the next five seasons.
The process, which began in September 2024, included the involvement of Abacanto, a company providing audiovisual technology consultancy services, to technically evaluate all the applications received.
The five blocks are defined as follows:
· Lot 1: Operating media LALIGA EA SPORTS
· Lot 2: Operating media LALIGA HYPERMOTION
· Lot 3: MCR and Centralised Services
· Lot 4: Contribution and Distribution
· Lot 5: Content Generation
Following an exhaustive evaluation that carefully analysed all technical, operational, and economic aspects presented, LALIGA decided to award the available blocks to the companies that achieved the highest scores in both technical and financial evaluations, in line with the criteria outlined in the tender specifications. This decision was based on a rigorous comparative analysis of all the proposals submitted, with the objective of selecting the most suitable option for each block and ensuring that the allocation aligns with LALIGA’s strategic objectives and needs.
· HBS (Host Broadcast Services) was selected for Lots 1, 2 and 3, taking over the production of the LALIGA EA SPORTS and LALIGA HYPERMOTION operating media, as well as MCR and centralized services. HBS is one of Europe’s leading audiovisual production companies, renowned for its role as host broadcaster for every FIFA World Cup since 2002, as well as major competitions such as the UEFA Champions League, the European Championships, and the Africa Cup of Nations.
· TSA (Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales) will be responsible for Lot 4, focused on contribution and distribution, given its key technical expertise in the international communications sector. TSA is one of Spain’s leading audiovisual production and technical services companies, with extensive experience in major sporting events such as the UEFA Champions League, the Copa del Rey, and the Olympic Games, where it has excelled in managing infrastructure for broadcasters and operators at both national and international levels.
· Lot 5, which corresponds to the generation of content, has not been awarded after evaluating the offers received. These services will therefore be strategically integrated with other content projects that LALIGA must contract, which were not included in this particular tender.
With this new approach, LALIGA reinforces its commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in audiovisual production, which is key in delivering the best possible product to fans, broadcasters, and partners around the world.
