She is pretty. She is stylish. She is very young. Princess Adebusola Abisoye Oluwatuyi is a Regent in Ondo State. She is the Osolo of Isolo in Akure, Ondo State. She stepped in after her dad died. She studied at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, Akoko.
Last week, this beautiful Regent spoke to City People about her life.
How does she combine her social life with other roles?
“Well, I must confess its very challenging but I give glory to Almighty God for helping me.” For how long has she been on the throne? “On October 10, I will be 4 years on the throne of my father.”
How easy was it settling down and how did she adjust? “I am used to the system because I was born on the throne. I tried to create a unique leadership style for myself that is acceptable to my people.”
What is her typical day like? “In the morning, I attend to my guests in the palace and later to my own apartment to relax and watch films. No free movement at all.”
She is very stylish. So much so that whenever she enters a party heads usually turn in her direction. How did she create her peculiar agbada fashion style? “My Agbada is one of my unique styles that is very notable and attractive to the people. Because it really fits me.
She is also very pretty. How does she maintain her good look? “Thank you. I smile often and I always keep a pleasant look on my face.
Smiling does wonders on your outward appearance and your inner happiness.” What is her story like? Where was she born? Which schools did she attend? “Princess Adebusola Abisoye Oluwatuyi. I was born in Isolo in Akure South Local Government, Ondo State. I attended Adekunke Ajasin University Akungba Akoko. Ondo State. I am a graduate of Sociology. I became the Regent of Isolo on the 10th of October, 2013 after the demise of my late father Kabiesi Oba Kayode Oluwatuyi, the Osolo of ISOLO, Akure.”
Whats is her royal family story like? I am from Abibiri ruling family in Isolo. My father spent 34 years on the throne and I am the first daughter on the throne. We have 4 ruling houses in Isolo. My father, died on September 22nd, 2013, so I came on the throne on October 10, 2013.”
Does being a Regent affect her social life?
“Yes, Regency is really affecting my social life. I don’t know how to combine the two. You cannot marry, you can’t hang out with your friends, no free movement. Well, am sociable because am trying to make my tenure a very eventful and epoch making. I also want to stand out.
Is there a time frame to her Regency?
“No”. Does that mean she will be in office permanently?
No. Am planning to vacate the throne this year.”
