Liverpool lived up to their slogan ‘never walk alone’ as they comfortably humbled proud Arsenal 3-1 at Anfield on Saturday.

The Gunners have been found wanting in crunch games against their main rivals over the years, leaving many supporters to question whether Arsene Wenger is the right man to lead the club.

And fans will be reeling from that same old feeling once again as Arsenal served up a disappointing display on the road against fellow top-four contenders Liverpool.

Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane fired the Reds into a two-goal lead in the first half as Arsenal’s star man Alexis Sanchez watched on from the bench.

The Chilean came on for the second half as Arsenal pulled a goal back through Danny Welbeck, but they could not find that all important equaliser before Georginio Wijnaldum converted for Liverpool late on.

Arsenal’s defeat means they have failed to win any of their last 11 away games against the other sides currently in the top six (Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United).

Wenger’s charges have conceded nine times during their trips to Chelsea, Liverpool, City and United combined this term, with a visit to Tottenham still to come on 30 April.

With this result, Arsenal have now dropped to 5th position on the log, two points behind Klopp’s men and Manchester City who occupy 3rd and 4th position and a point ahead of Manchester United who also slipped to Bournemouth after a 1-1 draw on Saturday.
