Louis Van Gaal,

Former Manchester United and The Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal has announced his intention to retire from coaching at age 65.

Van Gaal, who won the FA Cup two days before being sacked by Manchester United last year, spoke after being given a lifetime achievement award by the Dutch government.

Van Gaal said that he didn’t intend to seek another role in management after being replaced by Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

“I said then that I would stop, that I later changed into a sabbatical but now I do not think I will return to coaching,” he is quoted by football-oranje .com.

“So much has happened in my family, you become a human being again with your nose pressed to the facts.”
