The much anticipated 30 years on stage celebration and album launch of music legend Majek Fashek, was celebrated on Sunday 10th of September at Oriental Hotel Grand Ballroom Lekki, Lagos.
The event doubled as the official release concert of his new album titled “weep not children” Packaged by his management; Miracle Day Music. The concert featured several Nigerian musicians such as 2face Idibia, DJ Jimmy Jatt, Sound Sultan, Dice Alices, Harry song and comedians including: Ushbebe and Kenny Blaq (who were the hosts of the concert), Akpororo, Maleke, I go save. It also featured guest appearance by Nollywood actors Aki and Pawpaw.
Majek’s first manager Harris Igiehon described Majek’s voice as exceptional “When I heard his voice, it was exceptional, I told him and he sang, Bob Marley and he played his amazing guitar and drum, I was impressed. He said.
Sound Sultan, who also spoke to City People said that he was greatly influenced by Majek’s music while growing up.
The hall was decorated in Gold and White and audience sat in various sections ranging from the regular to VIP, VVIP and then Table Section. The ushers shined in silver and black outfits and made sure everyone was well attended to. The highlight of the event was when Majek came on stage to perform some songs from his upcoming album. Majek was joined on stage by 2face Idibia to perform the remake of his old classic “Holy Spirit now titled. “Take over me”.
