What have you been able to do in the last few months of pandemic lockdown?
I have not been able to work. I used to work back to back, so I have not been able to do that. My kids have not been able to go to school. I don’t like concentrating on the negative aspects. I have also been thankful for my wife and kids. I have been able to learn more responsibility and also learn more things because I have spent more time with my family. I am always like one week in, one week out, I don’t spend enough time with my family but I have been able to do that. As a human, if you see reasons why you should be grateful for everything that happens to you in life, then trust me, you will never be down, so instead of seeing losses, you will be seeing chances. Covid-19 is not specifically directed at you and me, it is a pandemic, so let’s be grateful for what we have.
Do you have projects you will be working on soon after the pandemic?
Yes, I will be concluding my book. I have a book called “Shame To Fame” the autobiography of Bolanle Ninolowo. Look out for that. I am concluding that soon. It is the story of my life, before the Covid-19. we had the movie titled Ratnik and lots of my fans were really anticipating it, so we hope it will get to the cinemas soon. Besides that, we have picture-perfect series, it is the most anticipated series in the country, the raising of Jobestina by Iroko.
How true is it that Bolanle is one of the highest-paid actors in Nigeria?
I believe so sir, God made it happen.
How does that make me feel?
It makes me feel like telling everyone to stick to their God and He will answer. It was a test for me all along. I am not from a broke home. I am an American boy, I am not bragging, I have been blessed. I am the son of Alhaji Ninolowo, I came to give God the test, to see that he can do something that people can talk about and he has done it, so everything that has happened to me is a test that I have put myself through. It is not like I needed to do it by obligation. I was not deported from America. I left on my own and I would have left when things were hard like lots of my friends did but I kept pushing on and I thank Him for strength and for not quitting. Each time I pray every morning I always pray for perseverance and resilience and that has helped me, I am not stronger than the next person but the grace to resist a lot of things has helped me a lot, there is more to life than most people understand.
Can you tell us about the church you attend?
I have never been to church.
And you are this deep spiritually?
No, I have never been to church. Let me give the privilege of seeing something, I call it a rare privilege. You see this big Bible I am holding, when my wife and kids came back from the U.S., the law I gave them is that you don’t put anything on this Bible, I don’t care what that is, you don’t even go close to it except you just want to use it to pray and return it. The Bible has always remained with me when I was hustling and struggling. I hold it so dear to my heart and I don’t joke with it for any reason. God has blessed me with wisdom, I get curious a lot and ask questions, so I began to ask why a man would tell lies about a man that created I and him, you have not suffered and you say you are wise?
