Ramadan is the most cherished month in the Islamic lunar calendar. It is a month in which many Muslim faithful long for to become closer to Allah. Every Muslim strive to intensify the Ibadah (acts of worship) in order to earn the full reward of fasting in the holy month. They also attend series of soul inspiring Ramadan lectures to derive the needed motivation on how best to maximize the opportunities in the month. Many Lagos Muslim celebrities are not left out in the quest of having a rewarding fasting in Ramadan. They attend Ramadan lectures and sometimes sponsor top Islamic scholars on radio and TV for their lectures to reach a larger audience. By doing this many Muslims can listen to their lectures in Ramadan.

Ramadan is a month where a lot of Islamic scholars and clerics get engaged mostly as they are busy delivering lectures at one event or the other. Months before the commencement of the blessed month; there are some Islamic scholars celebrities jostle for as guest lecturers at their Ramadan lectures. Once Ramadan starts, most of them are fully booked; you can hardly get them to attend your programme. This has become a norm for most of them every year.

(1) Sheikh Habeebullah Adam Al-Ilory is popularly called “Mudeer Marikaz”. He is a very popular Islamic scholar with a huge number of followers. He is the son of the Legendary Sheikh Adam Al-Ilory and administrator of Markaz Arabic and Islamic Training Institute, Agege, one of the most efficient Arab institutes in Lagos State. Every Ramadan, Sheikh Habeeb usually holds Ramadan lectures at the Markaz premises, a Tefsir that enjoys lots of attendance from many celebrities. This is also sponsored and shown on a popular TV station in Lagos. This year’s Ramadan won’t be an exception as many of them are looking forward to hearing the great scholar’s lectures.

(2) Sheikh Muideen Ajani Bello is a veteran Islamic scholar of high repute. He is known for saying things the way they are. He is a scholar who never cares whose ox is gored while delivering his lecture as he addresses many society ills in the society. The sheikh has been up for so long and remains the toast of many top Lagos celebrities. They attend his Ramadan lectures in their numbers and they are already bracing up to have the Ibadan based Islamic scholar around as this year’s Ramadan starts.

(3) Sheikh AbdulRahman Olarenwaju Ahmad is a top Islamic scholar and the national missioner of Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, a foremost Islamic society in the country. The sheikh is known for his eloquent delivery of his lectures which he does well whether in English or the typical and undiluted Yoruba language. Lagos celebrities don’t miss the Ramadan lectures of the great scholar. They can travel a long distance to attend his lectures.

(4)  Sheikh Suleiman Farouq Onikijipa is another ground scholar who enjoys lots of followership. Recently he was named the grand mufti of Ilorin emirate, a position reserved for erudite Islamic scholars. His Ramadan Tefsirs are always flooded by top Lagos celebrities. He usually airs his Ramadan lectures on air which he is quite loaded with lots of educational contents and impactful messages.

(5) Sheikh Imran Abdul Mojeed Eleha is up there and an Islamic scholar par excellence. He is the Chief Imam of Daaru Naim Central Mosque. His Ramadan lectures are usually enticing as he tends to do lots of clarifications on the wrong notions many people have about Islam. (7) Dr. Abdulateef Abdulhakeem is a popular Islamic scholar and a law by profession. He is a prominent politician in Lagos state. He is the former Lagos Commissioner for Home Affairs and founder of the renowned Markaz AbdulLateef Centre for Quranic Memorization and Arabic Studies, which recently scored high for graduating 130 Quranic Memorizers an unprecedented landmark in the history of Quran Memorization in Yoruba land, He is fondly called Honourable Yepe (sand) with the significant message that man is raised from dust and would eventually return back to the dust. He is…. His lectures are always captivating as they are usually laced with a series of educative poems in Yoruba language that thrill many of his audience. Dr. Abdul Hakeem is one of the most sought after Islamic scholars in the month of Ramadan.

(8) Sheikh Zikrulah Shaffi is a great Islamic scholar, well respected in the land. He is The Grand Mufti of the Conference of Islamic Organizations (CIO), a prominent group that accommodates many Islamic societies in Nigeria. His lectures usually address the nourishing of souls with the word of God. He also does more of his lecture on Islamic Jurisprudence as a judge for the Muslim faithful. Popular conscious Muslims are in tune with his brand of lecture. This is what they would be enjoying as the 2022 Ramadan begins.

(9) Another Islamic scholar whose lectures have won the heart of many Muslims in Lagos and beyond is Sheikh Dr. Abdur Rahman Adeyanju Lawal who many people refer to as Sheikh of Lagos. He is the Chief missioner and founder of NADWATUL AHLI WORLDWIDE. He is highly intellectual in Islamic discussion; fluent in Arabic, English and Yoruba Language. He has a large pool of followers online and offline. Many celebrities don’t miss his lectures most especially the one he does in the month of Ramadan.

(10) Sheikh Abdulraman Sulaiman Adangba is the National Missioner of an Islamic society known as Al Fatih-Ul–Quareeb Islamic Society of Nigeria. He is an Islamic scholar of great repute. He is an embodiment of knowledge and this resonates round him always. His lectures are always appealing for the need to enhance humanity rather than desecrate the existence of man. He is also a top scholar many Muslim celebrities love to listen to in the month of Ramadan.

(11) Sheikh Al- Mukhatar is one of the wave-making Islamic scholars in the city of Lagos. His sphere of influence has gone far and wide as his followers’ base on social media has been overwhelming. Many join his programme in Ramadan from different parts of the world as they tune in via the various online platforms he uses for dawah. His Ramadan lectures are usually engaging and that is why he is the toast of many top celebrities.

(12) Sheikh Buhari Musa which many call Buhari Omo Musa is a cleric loved by many celebrities especially those in the entertainment industry. He delivers his lecture in a comic but resounding way. He travels the length and breadth of Lagos State delivering Ramadan lectures. At every spot here Buhari is meant to deliver his lecture, top celebrities usually come around to enjoy his preaching. He gets so busy during Ramadan that he moves from one location to another to give lectures.

(13) Sheikh Musa Yahya Agboola is a veteran Islamic cleric loved by many Lagos celebrities. He is the founder and spiritual leader of Darul Falah Islamic organization in Amukoko area of Lagos State. He is ranked high among top scholars who are not pushed aside when it comes to Islamic propagation in the society.

(14) Sheikh Alhaji Taofeeq Akeugbagold is a popular jingle. He needs little or no introduction. He is one of the wave-making Islamic clerics in town. Sheikh Akeugbagold is an anchor of an Islamic programme on a popular radio station in Ibadan loved by many audiences. Even many Christians enjoy listening to him on the radio. He has done that not too long ago, he was given the Islamic title of “Wazeer Muslimeen of Oyo State, Alhaji Taofeek Akewugbagold. Many celebrities in Lagos assess his lectures which are always engaging on his social media platforms and this year’s Ramadan won’t be an exception.

(15) Call him Sheikh Qamarudeen Ajala you are correct, call him Amir Qamarudeen Ajala you are also right. He is an Islamic scholar who has been around for a while. His lectures are always on point and many Muslim celebrities don’t miss them. The sheikh also presents a programme on a popular Television in Lagos where he engages many of the audience and rewards them handsomely for attempting his questions about Islam.

(16) Sheikh Abdurazaq Alaro is a top educationist and erudite scholar. He is a Professor of Law at the prestigious University of Ilorin. He is a Shariah expert, Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, and an internationally certified arbitrator. Alaro is an alumnus of Islamic University of Medinah, Saudi-Arabia where he graduated with a 1st Class Degree in 1993, and was listed in 2017 as one of the most outstanding alumni of the university worldwide. He speaks and writes fluently in both Arabic and English. His lecture series are well researched and convincing, showing his depth of Islamic knowledge. Many conscious Muslims take time out to attend his Ramadan lecture to earn more about the teaching of Islam from the great scholar whom many people call Prof. Alaro.

(17) Sheikh Dr. Bilal Al Asra is very versatile. He is a scholar and researcher. His lectures are quite inspiring as he goes into lots of scholarly research into them. At the end, he usually comes out with conclusion which solves most problems in the contemporary Muslim world and the society at large. An in-depth review into the background of Al-Asra revealed that he was a rare breed among his peers. Having studied Shari’a law and Islamic jurisprudence from one of the top University of Saudi Arabia, the popular Doctor from Iwo, is one of the very first batches of PhD holders from universities of Arabian lands. He is one of the prize students of the late Baba Abd Baqi of Iwo.

(18) Sheikh Thaoban Adam Al-Ilory is the brother of Sheikh Habeebulah Adam Al-Ilory, the Mudeer Markaz. Both of them are among the children of the Full Bright Muslim Scholar and founder of noble Islamic institute, Markaz located in Agege. Sheikh Thaoban is a former lecturer at Lagos State University. He is sound and among the respected Islamic scholars in Yoruba land.

(19) Among the top scholars whom many people love to attend his lectures in Ramadan is Fadilatu Sheikh Muyideen Salman, the Chief Imam Offa. He is a well-rounded scholar whose lectures capture more of societal ills and ways to get the society back to normal. He says things the way they are. His lectures are very interesting and most times punchy. He is so popular that many Lagos celebrities don’t miss his lectures in Ramadan. They travel from far and near to listen to him.

(20)  Alhaji Engr. Sulaimon Oluwatoyin Abou-Nolla is an Islamic scholar Lagosians don’t joke with. He is the Chief Imam of Lagos. Many celebrities on the Island always take interest in attending programmes where he would deliver lectures in Ramadan. His lectures are usually scholarly as they capture the demands of time.
