Meet IGBO Politicians Who Support Pres. TINUBU

Not many people know that Pres. Bola Tinubu has a set of eminent South-East politicians and business people who support him.

Some are serving as Ministers.

Others are in the National Assembly. Jim Ovia is one of them. He is the founder of Zenith Bank.

Recently, Pres. Tinubu gave him an appointment. Chief Arthur Eze is another big Igbo businessman who is a great supporter of Asiwaju. He has been telling many people to rally round Tinubu.

There are others like them as you read along.

Below are the stories of others who support Tinubu.

 

SENATOR ORJI UZO KALU

In the build-up to the 2023 Presidential election, former Abia State Governor, now a Senator, Orji Uzo Kalu was among the first Igbo politicians who came out in the open to show support for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2023 presidential ambition. A video went viral where Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu paid a visit to the family of Orji Uzo Kalu with his mother inside the house welcoming Asiwaju and his team. When it was time for the election proper, it was reported that Senator Kalu won his election against Chief Muo Ohuabunwa a top-ranking Igbo politician from his Senatorial District. And when the Senate President’s seat did not go in favour of Orji Uzo Kalu, he wept openly for not having been supported by President Tinubu irrespective of his sacrifices towards his victory in the 2023 Presidential election.

 

BEN KALU

This 53 years old Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives from Abia State is one of the top Igbo men who supported Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 Presidential election and he showed it by the number of votes cast for the APC Presidential candidate in his zone. He was instrumental to the outlandish campaigns carried out in the South East where organic support for Labour Party’s Presidential candidate Peter Obi was overwhelming and he got the reward of his nomination and eventual victory as Deputy Speaker for Federal House of Representatives Abuja in the 10th National Assembly.

 

NKEIRU ONYEJEOCHA

She is the Minister of State for Labour and Productivity. She was once a Commissioner for Resources Management and Manpower Development under Senator Orji Uzo Kalu who was then the Governor of Abia State in 2003. Later in her political career she was elected into the Federal House of Representatives and in 2019 she contested for the position of Speaker but she stepped down for Femi Gbajabiamilla who was later elected into the office of the Speaker and now Chief of Staff in President Tinubu’s Government.

 

DORIS UZOKA-ANITE

In 2023 she was very prominent in the nationwide Presidential campaign of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This trained Medical Doctor and graduate of Medicine and surgery from University of Benin, Edo State, a financial guru is the new Minister of Industry, trade and Investment. She had spent over 20 years in the banking industry where she excelled as a staff of Zenith Bank in Nigeria. She was later appointed as Commissioner for Finance by Governor Hope Uzodinma  in Imo State prior to her appointment as member of the Board of Tinubu’s Presidential Advisory Council specially about National Economy. She holds a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from London School of Economics.

 

UJU KENNEDY OHANENYE

The current Minister for Women Affairs Barrister Uju Kennedy Ohanenye in 2022. She was the only female Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress APC Presidential primary election that produced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. She took an honourable route in support of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu by stepping down for him as she urged her supporters to vote for Asiwaju Tinubu. She graduated from Nnamdi Azikiwe University with a Law degree as she moved into Lagos, Abuja and Owerri where she established a Real estate firm that thrived very well before joining politics.

 

HOPE UZODINMA

He has been a vocal supporter of Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu’s 2023 Presidential ambition prior to the 2022 APC Presidential Primary election. Senator Hope Uzodinma featured prominently in the victory of Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, although the Labour Party won in Imo State but he was able to provide the needed leadership that secured a marginal score for the APC Presidential candidate at the polls in Imo State on February 25th, 2023. This Imo State Governor is highly valued in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Government because of his sacrifices in the campaign for Asiwaju Tinubu’s emergence as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

AKARACHI ETIOSA AMADI

This 28 years old Engineer Akarachi Etiosa Amadi is an All Progressives Congress APC elected Member in the Federal House of Representatives for Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency. His entry into the contest for a political position was described by his opponents as impossible in a state where well established politicians dominate the political space but he was able to campaign vigorously for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu using his youthful swag and the influence and popularity of his father who is an Oil magnet, political erudite and business mogul to launch himself into politics. His father runs two successful marginal oil Fields in delta state and owns a mechanized farm in his native Eziama town in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State.

 

OSITA IZUNASO

Distinguished Senator Osita Izunaso, a Journalist turned politician has been a long serving member of the national assembly where he began with Federal House of Representatives and graduated to have been elected as Member representing Imo West senatorial district of Orlu senatorial zone in Imo State. He was able to outshine former Imo State Governor Rochas Owelle Okorocha who was in the 9th Senate.

 

DAVE UMAHI

This former governor of Ebonyi State defected to APC in the twilight of the 2022 Presidential Primary election where he filed nomination for presidential primary later stepped down for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and asked all his supporters to vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu which made it possible for all delegates from Ebonyi State to cast their votes for Asiwaju against Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi who emerged second in the Primary election. Engineer Dave Umahi was later voted in as Senator in the 10th Senate but was nominated as Minister for Works in President Tinubu’s Government.

PATRICK IFEANYI UBA

This Anambra State born business mogul who owns Capital Oil and associated businesses is also a politician who was elected into the Federal House of Representatives under Young Peoples Party YPP and in 2023 was elected as Senator representing Anambra South senatorial district. However, he defected to All Progressives Congress APC and he is currently supporting the government of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
