•How They Have Been Friends For Over 40 Yrs

For eight years that she has been First Lady, not many could really pinpoint the close friends of the wife of the executive governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, Chief (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi. Perhaps, because of the fact that many women always flock around her at a state or social functions; some female public office holders, as well as wives of the top government officials, are always part of her entourage.

While this, in some quarters, is believed to be a kind of strategy by the First Lady, but those who are close to her can testify to the fact that she is a private person naturally, if not for her office that has really exposed her to the public in the past years. She loves to keep her circle very slim, and detests any form of controversy around herself and loves to add value to people’s lives silently.

Her recently held 60th birthday has, however, uncovered many new shocking things about the Yeye Aare Atunluse of Ibadanland; it was during the diamond celebration that her husband, Governor Ajimobi revealed how they met in the bank over 40 years ago.

It was also in the cause of the celebration, we discovered that there are indeed three women who are very close to Mrs Ajimobi. They are Mrs Yemisi Fakoyede, Mrs Caro Olupitan and Mrs Genny Adeosun. We exclusively gathered that they have been friends to Her Excellency for more than 40 years. In fact, the duo of Mrs Caro Olupitan and Mrs Genny Adeosun are said to be Mrs Ajimobi’s childhood friends.

Mrs Fakoyede and Florence Ajimobi’s path, we scooped, crossed at the Ibadan Polytechnic in 1977, as students. She is a member of the Oyo SUBEB board. In an interview inside a special magazine for Mrs Ajimobi’s 60 birthday, Mrs Fakoyede didn’t only describe Florence as a terrific asset, homemaker and a devout Christian, she also disclosed that their friendship of over 40 years has gone beyond mere friends, but sisters.

Florence Ajimobi to her is a pleasant, humble and a virtuous woman who is always supportive. “In my own view, I will say Dr. (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi compliments her husband, the Governor. You know she has many programs, one of them is the Women Intercessory Network (WIN), a prayer that she normally holds every two months at the Government House Arcade, where women gather to offer prayers for the nation, Oyo State and people of the state and it has never ceased. Not only that, she has been giving so much support to the poor, the indigent, the needy, the orphans and the vulnerable people in the state. She has initiated the Ajumose Food Bank for the people and she equally distributes food items to various families during festive periods like Eid el Kabir and Christmas. She initiated the Educate a Rural Child program, to bridge the gap between the children in the rural and urban areas and many other laudable programmes,” she said.

Mrs Genny Mariana Adeosun is the beautiful wife of late former Minister of Aviation, Communication and Transportation and former Chairman, National Pension Commission (PENCOM), Oluwole Adeosun. She is one of the closest persons to Mrs Ajimobi. Not only that they are close, but they also have so many things in common; they are both elegant and beautiful and married to public figures. Genny Adeosun is also a little above 60 too, she clocked 60 in 2018. She is an advocate of women in politics.

While Mrs Caro Olupitan is said to be secondary school classmate at the Our Lady of Apostle, Ibadan, back in the day and they remained friends till now. The three women are said to be very close friends of Mrs Florence Ajimobi, who have the ears of the first lady and she trusts them.
