Ijebu Igbo is a popular town in Ijebu land. It is a few minutes’ drive from Ijebu Ode, another prominent town around. The Orimolusi is the paramount ruler of Ijebu Igbo land. His domain covers over 4 local government areas and it also has 10 Local Community Development Areas (LCDA). These local government areas are Ijebu North local government, Ijebu North East local government, Ijebu East local government and Ogun Waterside local government.
Ijebu Igbo is unarguably the largest kingdom in Ogun state, Nigeria in term of land mass with more than 300 villages therein. The town is bordered by Ibadan, Ikire, and Ondo. It is also the second largest town in Ogun State and the largest among Ijebus as it boasts of expansive arable land suitable for farming and other productive ventures.
His Royal Majesty Alayeluwa Oba Lawrence Jaiyeoba Adebajo the Orimolusi, is the paramount ruler of Ijebu-Igbo and royal father of the land. He rules over the 5 Quarters that make up Ijebu Igbo. They include: Oke-Sopin, Oke-Agbo, Ojowo, Atikori, and Japara. Each clan has nothing less than 40 villages under it. They are being ruled by well respected and development oriented kings, ever ready to join the new Orimolusi rule the vast and well endowed land of Ijebu Igbo.
The 5 kings that rule Ijebu Igbo with the Orimolusi are Oba Mufutau Adesesan Yusuf, the Sopen Lakalu of Oke-Sopen; Oba Abayomi Olusesan Banjo, Olokinne of Ojowo; Oba Ibitoye Solaja, Keegbo of Atikori; Oba Stephen Adeleke Adekoya, Bejeroku of Oke Agbo; and Oba Adewale Aderemi Ogunye, Abijaparako of Japara.
They are all working very hard to join Oba Adebayo in making Ijebu Igbo attain greatness.
