Come May 29, 2019, the 9th Assembly in Oyo State will fully be inaugurated; new set of honourables from across the 32 constituencies in the state, under their various political parties, will emerge. While four of these honourables are returning to the Assembly for second term, 28 of them are new members. Interestingly too, there good numbers of them who are fresh and young breeds in politics, apart from Hon. Niran Alarape who is a former Speaker of the House in the 4th Assembly and who will probably be the oldest among them. According to the recently held election results, PDP won 26 seats; APC has 5, and ADP won only 1. HON. ALARAPE ASHIMIYU NIRAN.
When the 9th Assembly in Oyo State is fully inaugurated, Niran ALARAPE, the honourable who won Atiba constituency seat, under the All Progressives Congress (APC), won’t be new to the environment. He is a former Speaker of the Assembly, between December 1999 and May 2003, in the 4th Assembly.
HON. OLADEJI BIMBO OLAWUNMI.
She is former Gov. Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala’s political daughter and of the few honourables that were able to secure their second term seats in the Oyo State House of Assembly. She will represent the people of Ogbomoso North in the coming 9th Assembly in the state. She contested and won the seat under ADP and the only honourable the party has.
HON. OLUSEYI ADISA.
He is definitely one of the new breeds in Oyo State politics. He is a lawyer by profession and was drawn into politics by Gov. Abiola Ajimobi, when he was appointed the governor’s Principal Private Secretary in 2011. He is the honourable to represent Afijio constituency in the coming dispensation, under APC. He is a new member.
HON. OGUNDOYIN DEBO EDWARD.
Debo Ogundoyin, son of the late Eruwa-born business mogul Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin, came into political consciousness of Oyo State when he won the by-election into the state’s Assembly, to fill the vacuum created by the death of former Speaker Michael Adeyemi, who hailed from Lanlate in Ibarapa East Local Government. He is been able to stage a come back again in the recently held election, to represent his people. In fact, all eyes are on him as a potential Speaker.
HON. YUSUF ADEBISI.
Yusuf, son of the popular Fuji music star Taiwo Akande Adebisi aka Currency, is the youngest of them all. He is 25. He is the winner of Ibadan South West 1 seat, under PDP. He is a new member, and a young, brilliant and vibrant personality.
HON. OLUFEMI FOWOKANMI.
Oluwafemi Fowokanmi will represent Ibadan South West constituency 2 in the Assembly. He is a pastor and businessman. He runs a popular bakery and his bread ‘Better Life’s is one of the finest in town. He is a new member under PDP.
HON. ISIAKA KAZEEM TUNDE
Arole, as he is popularly called, is the honourable to represent Oyo East & Oyo West in the state’s Assembly. He is a graduate of Banking and finance from Polytechnic of Ibadan and also has has a Diploma in Education from Ado-Ekiti University. He contested and won under APC. This is going to be his first time of Oyo Assembly experience.
HON. SIMEON ADEGBOLA OYELEKE.
He was the Deputy Major Leader of the 5th Assembly and now he has come back to represent Ogo-Oluwa & Surulere in the House State House of Assembly, under APC.
HON. ABDULLAHI RASAK.
He is the honourable to represent Ibadan South East 1 in Oyo State House, under PDP, when the 9th Assembly is inaugurated in May. He is a new member.
HON. ADEDIBU HAKEEM.
The Iganna-born Hakeem Adedibu will represent Iwajowa constituency, under PDP. He is a new member.
HON. AKINTUNDE OLAJIDE.
Akintunde Olajide won the Lagelu constituency seat in PDP. He is a fresher.
HON. ADEDOYIN ONAOLAPO SANJO.
He will represent Ogbomoso South, under PDP. He is a new member.
HON. FRANCIS ADETUNJI.
He is the honourable-elect to represent Oluyole constituency in PDP. A new member too.
HON. ADEBUNMI LATEEF OLAYIWOLA.
Adebunmi Lateef Olayiwola won Oorelope constituency seat, under PDP. He is a new member.
HON. ABIODUN FADEYI.
He is the honourable-elect to represent Ona-Ara constituency, under PDP, when the 9th Assembly is inaugurated come May this year. He is a first timer.
HON. BAMIGBOYE ABIDOYE.
Hon. Bamigboye Abidoye contested and won Orire constituency seat into the Oyo Assembly. He is a new member under APC.
HON. POPOOLA ADEMOLA.
He is to represent I
HON. OJEDOKUN PETER.
Hon. Ojedokun Peter is from Ibarapa Central /Ibarapa North constituency, to represent his people in Oyo Assembly, under PDP. He is a new member.
HON. MOBAJE RASAK.
He will represent the people of Ido constituency, under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. He is a new member.
HON. SAMINU GBADAMOSI.
Hon. Saminu Gbadamosi is the honourable-elect to represent Atisbo & Saki East constituency in the Assembly, under PDP.
HON. ADEMOLA BAMIDELE.
He will represent the people of Iseyin/Itesiwaju constituency in Oyo Assembly, under PDP. He is a new member.
HON. KAZEEM OLAYANJU
Kazeem Olayanju has won Irepo/Olorunsogo constituency seat under PDP. He is one of the new members to form the 9th Assembly.
HON. AKEEM MUSTAPHA.
He will represent the people of Kajola constituency, under PDP. He is a new member.
HON. FATOKUN AYOTUNDE.
Fatokun Ayotunde is the honourable-elect to represent Akinyele Constituency 1 from PDP.
HON. OLATUNDE KEHINDE.
He is to represent Akinyele constituency 2, under PDP. He is a new member.
HON. AKEEM OBADARE.
Hon. Akeem OBADARE won the Ibadan North West constituency seat under PDP.
HON. BABALOLA SAMSON.
He is the honourable to represent Egbeda constituency in the 9th Assembly, under PDP.
HON. ADEBAYO BABAJIDE.
He is going to represent Ibadan North Constituency 2 under the umbrella of PDP.
HON. OYEKUNLE FOLA.
Oyekunle Fola contested and won Ibadan North constituency 1 under PDP. He is a new member.
HON. OLAMIDE OLAGOKE.
He is the elected honourable to represent Ibadan North East constituency1. He is also a new member, under PDP.
HON. OKEDOYIN FEMI.
Hon. Okedokun Femi is from Saki West constituency and he is going to represent the people of that area in Oyo Assembly, under PDP.
HON. OWOLABI OLUSOLA.
He is the honourable to represent Ibadan North East Constituency 11, under PDP. He is a new member.
