Come November 27th, the Governor of State of Osun will be celebrating his one year in office as the Executive Governor of the State of Osun. Since he was sworn in as the governor, he had been running of the state with his Chief of Staff, Secretary to the state government and Chief Press secretary but on the 27th September 2019, ten months after he was sworn in he sent 35 commissioners and special adviser nominees to the state House of Assembly. They have since been screened and they have been inaugurated as commissioners and special advisers. The Government of Adegboyega Oyetola in Osun State has 4 female commissioners and 1 special adviser while the remaining 30 are males. In this report City People’s ADEOLA SHITTU & DARE ADENIRAN brings you the list of the 35 political appointees who now run the affairs of the state with the governor.
BOLA OYEBAMIJI
Hon. Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji is one of the few commissioners who served in the previous administration and was re-appointed as the State of Osun Commissioner for Finance, the same position he occupied during Ogbeni Areagbesola’s administration. He was born 54 years ago in Ikire, Osun State. He is indeed a man with lots of experience in the banking sector. He is an economist, a public administrator and a politician per excellence. This graduate of banking and finance from Polytechnic of Ibadan holds two master’s degree, one in public administrations and the other in Business administration from Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos State and Ado Ekiti University, Ekiti State respectively. He is a member of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria among other professional bodies. Before his appointment as Commissioner for Finances in 2017 by the immediate past governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, he was director of many financial institutions which include Omolulabi Mortgage Bank in 2017, Brent Mortgage Bank in 2017, Ikire Micro- Finance Bank in 2008, Imperial Bureau De Change in 2006, Roger Blue petroleum, Lagos and he is also the Chairman White Green Farm, Onireke Village, Ikire since 1997. He contested for the 2018 Osun Guber race under the platform of APC before stepping down for the incumbent Governor.Â
MRS GIWA LATEEFAH ABIODUN
She is one of the four female Commissioners who will be running Osun State with Gov. Gboyegbe Oyetola. She was a former local government Chairman. She is the Commissioner for Governor Office.
ADEWOLE ADEDAYO
This farmer cum politician attended Command Children’s School, Mokola, Ibadan, Oyo State, for Primary Education and Kings International College, Ibadan, for his secondary school education. He earned his first degree from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, another bachelor’s degree from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom and a masters degree at the University of Nottingham. He won a scholarship to do research at the Harvard School of Public Health, United States. He is the son of immediate past Minister for Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole. He is the State of Osun Commissioner for Agric, Culture and Food Security.
MRS FUNKE ADENIKE EGBEMODE
Until her appointment as the Commissioner for Information and Civil Orientation in the State of Osun, she was the President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors and the Managing Director of the New Telegraph newspaper and a columnist with The Sun Newspaper. She attended Baptist Practicing Primary School, Iwo in Osun State and had her secondary school education in Baptist Girls High School, Osogbo, the state capital.
MR ADEOSUN ADEGBOYEGA RASAKI
Hon. Adeosun Rasaq will be serving as Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
HON IDIAT BABALOLA
Hon. Idiat Babalola is one of the female influential politicians in Osun State. She is a native of Ede and the daughter of the prominent industrialist, Chief SOB Babalola. She is a force to reckon with, in the state of Osun politics. She was one of the political appointees in Ogbeni Aregbesola ‘s administration, she had held various political positions which include Special Adviser on Federal Matters and she is one of the few women in Oyetola’s cabinet. She is the Commissioner to the Governor Office and federal matters. She is from Ede South and a former member of 4th Osun House of Assembly 2003-2007
DR. ADEBISI SIMEON OBAWALE
Dr Adebisi Simeon Obawale was the former commissioner for Home Affairs and Director General of Osun art and culture during Ogbeni Aregbesola’s administration. He is one of the few commissioners who were re-appointed in Oyetola’s government and he is the Osun State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism.
ENGR OMOWAIYE OLUREMI
Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye was the immediate past Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology during Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola’s administrations and he has been reappointed as the state Commissioner for Works and Transport, Osun State. He was born over 40 years ago in Ilesa. He is a COREN registered Engr. Oluremi is an Engineer by profession and an ICT guru.
HON AGUNBIADE NATHANIEL
Hon. Agunbiade Nathaniel is a former House of Reps lawmaker who represented Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency but lost his bid to return to the House of Reps. He is an APC stalwart and he was a member Osun State Judicial Service Commission (JSC). He is the Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning and a native of Ijebu- Ilesa, Osun.
HON OLADOYIN OLAYINKA FOLORUNSO
Hon. Folorunso Oladoyin fondly called Bamisayemi is a two-term House of Assembly lawmaker where he represented Ife South constituency and during his stay at the state house of assembly, he was the Chief Whip of the House. During the 2019 general elections, he was the APC candidate for Ife federal constituency but he lost the seat to the opposition. Bamisayemi is the current Commissioner for Education in the state of Osun.
MR KOLAJO ADEREMI
Hon. Adekola Aderemi is the Special Adviser to the Governor on Economy Planning and Budget and he is one of the few politicians who will be running the affairs of the state of Osun with the Governor and other Commissioners in order to deliver the agenda of the governor to the people of Osun State. he is from Ifetedo in Ife South LG. He is a Financial Accountant, entrepreneur and owner of a functional food processing Industry. He was a Special Adviser in the past regime of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
MR AJISEFINI ABIODUN
Mr Abiodun will be running the affairs of the state of Osun with the Governor and the other Commissioners to deliver the agenda of the governor to the people of Osun State. He is the Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture and Food Security.
HON AKEJU TAIWO
 Hon Akeju Taiwo Shadrack is an activist cum politician. He is a force to reckon with in Osun State politics. He is a close ally of SDP Guber candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore. He was in PDP before he left to join SDP and now he is a member of APC. This graduate of the University of Ibadan is the Osun State Commissioner for Political Affairs and Inter-governmental relations.

Mr Adeleke will be running the state of Osun with Gov. Gboyega Oyetola as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
HON AZEEZ LAWAL OLAYEMI
Hon Azeez is no doubt the youngest commissioner in Gov Adegboyega Oyetola’s Administration. Ths graduate of Demography and social statistic from Obafemi Awolowo University is the son of late Alhaji Moshood Lawal fondly call Olorun Esan. He is into haulage business and he promotes tourism and the entertainment industry. He owns the popular Gentlemen Quarter (GQ) Niteclub & Lounge in Ibadan and its environs like Kwara State.
Before he was made the running mate to SDP Guber candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore during the last Osun governorship election, he was the Osun State Youth Coordinator of PDP. He later left PDP for SDP. He is an inspiration to the youth and the coming generation. He will be running the State of Osun with Gov. Oyetola as the state Commissioner for Youth and Sports.

He is one of the few politicians who was appointed to run the affairs of the state of Osun with the Governor and the commissioner in order to deliver the agenda of the governor to the people of Osun State. He is the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education
MR. KAREEM ISMAEEL AKANDE
He is the Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation, Science and Technology. He is from Modakeke in Ife East Central LCDA. He is a strong member of APC in Modakeke and he mobilized well at the last election. He was born in 1974 and specializes in Public Administration.
ENGR MUMINI ADEKUNLE RAFIU
He is the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development and Community Affairs. Engr. Mumini Adekunle is from Iwo. He was born into a progressive family and has been supporting the party. He is also a great grassroots mobilizer.
ENGR IBITOYE FELIX ADENIRAN
Until his appointment as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Water Resources and Energy, he was the National Vice Chairman, Nigerian Society of Engineers and he will be working hand in hand with the Commissioner for Water Resources and Energy.

Dr Olanipekun Henry Olabode is the state of Osun Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Co-operative. Dr Olanipekun Henry Olabode is a Consultant on Management with a PhD in Business Administration. He is from Igbajo in Ila Federal Constituency.Â
MRS OGUNFOLAJU CHRISTIANA OLUSOLA
She is one of the female political appointees who will be running the affairs of the state of Osun with Gov. Goyegbe Oyetola. She is the Special Adviser to the Governor on Commerce, Industry and Co-operative.
DR ISAMOTU RAFIU OLASUNKANMI
Dr Rafiu Olasunkanmi is a graduate of College of Medicine University of Lagos, Lagos State. He is a native of Iwo in Osun State. Though much is not known about him but he is the State of Osun Commissioner for Health.
ENGR OLANIYAN HUSSEIN TOKE
He is an Engineer cum politician, he will be working hand in hand with the Commissioner for Works and transport as Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Transport in order to promote the agenda of the governor in the area of road network and infrastructure.
PROFÂ YINUSA OLALEKAN
He is the immediate past Commissioner for Economic Planning and budget in Ogbeni Aregbesola’s administration. This educationist cum Economics cum politician had been reappointed for the same position. He rose to the position of Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State
HON OLADEPO SOLAGBADE ATANDA
Hon. Atanda is the Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation. He was born over 60 years ago in Osogbo. He is the Chief Promoter of Progressive Touch Bearers (PTB). This graduate of statistics from the prestigious University of Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University also has a Diploma in Computer and Labour Statistics at BLS Washington DC, USA and a post-graduate Diploma in Management from the University of Calabar. He had worked in Various federal ministries before he joined politics to contest for the House of Reps to represent Osogbo/ Olorunda / Irepodun / Orrolu federal constituency under the platform of APC in 2015. He is a close pal of former Gove Aregbesola. He is described as Omoluabi politician-stateman who is committed to the welfare of his people.
BARR AKANDE OLUWAFEMI
Barr Oluwafemi Akande is the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Osun State. He is the son of the former acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Though much is not known about him but he is a Lawyer.
BARR OLABOOPO OLUBUKOLA RIHANAT
She is one of the few women that believe that politics is not meant for males alone, rather women too, should be given opportunities. Her passion for politics started during her university days when she was appointed the Chairperson of Obafemi Awolowo Hall with over 1500 students. In 2015 this graduate of Law from the Premier University of Ibadan contested for Boripe/ Boluwaduro state constituency for the Osun state House of Assembly under APC but lost the election. She also has OND in Mass Communication from Polytechnics of Ibadan. She is a native of Iragbiji. she was a strong member of the Ileri-Oluwa Campaign Organization, a women mobilizer and a part of the team that made the legal tussle that followed the Osun 2018 Governorship Election. Barr. Rihanat is the Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs.
ENGR OLALEKAN BADMUS
Engr. Badmus is the former Acting Managing Director of Tuns Farm, Osogbo and the son of Chief Tunde Badmus, the Asiwaju Musulumi of Yoruba land (Edo and Delta State. He is a graduate of Computer Science and Engineering from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology and he holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from OAU. He is a registered member of Council for the regulation of Engineering of Nigerian, Nigeria Institute of Management and Nigeria Society of Engineers. He is the Commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties

Dr Olumide is a medical doctor cum politician. He is the Osun State Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology.

He is a prince from Ile-Ife. He was the Chairman of Ife East LG, 2011-2016. He was presented as a great progressive party mobilizer in Ile-Ife. He is the Commissioner for Home Affairs.
