- How They Stepped Out At COWLSO Conference
It was glitz and glamour in Lagos last week, when a lot of celebrity women trooped out to celebrate themselves at the 17th National Women Conference, organised by the Committee Of Wives of Lagos State officials, COWLSO. The theme of the event was “SHE CREATS, SHE TRANSFORMS”. The event gathered many women in the Lagos State civil service and also wives of Lagos State officials led by the First Lady of Lagos, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode and her husband, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode. He is the chief host and grand patron of COWLSO. They were all well dressed and made sure the event was a success.
Many don’t know that behind the Lagos State Governor, are dedicated and hardworking women, who have emerged and proved beyond reasonable doubt that they have all what it takes to serve their state. They run Lagos in their capacity as members of the Lagos State Executive Council, which comprise of the Deputy Governor, Commissioners and some principal officers of ministries as Permanent Secretaries, Directors and GMs of different parastatals. At the COWLSO event, they all stepped out and below are the 35 powerful women whose profiles will intimidate you. It was complied by City People’s Society Editor, TAYO FAJORIN OYEDIJI who was at the week long event.
IDIAT ADEBULE
The Deputy Governor of Lagos, Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule was at the event. Her antecedent in the academia rising through the civil service and been politically sound has endeared many in the party to her and she came victorious in whom to run along in the 2015 Governorship Election. She also boasts of an intimidating CV which clearly shows her determination and loyalty towards her party and Lagos State as a whole having held various top positions in the state. She has been in the political system for over 14 years. Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule was born in Lagos State to the family of Idowu-Esho of Ojo Alaworo in Ojo local government area of the state.
She began her early education at Awori College, Ojo. Thereafter, she proceeded to the Lagos State University, Ojo, and got a Bachelor of Art in Education (B.A. Ed) degree in Islamic studies in 1992. She also had her masters master’s degree (M.Ed) in curriculum studies in same school. Much later, she had a certificate in early childhood development curriculum and school administration and assessment from the Nigeria Institute of International Education Association in 2006. she enrolled and completed her doctorate degree (PhD) in curriculum studies in 2012, also at the Lagos State University.
Dr Adebule began her working career as an academic at Lagos State College of Primary Education (LACOPED), Noforija, Epe as a lecturer in the department of Religious studies and later transferred her service to the Lagos State University as a lecturer in the Department of Curriculum Studies and later language Arts and social studies in the faculty of Education.
Her political experience and sojourn began when she was appointed as a commissioner 1 in the Lagos State Post Primary Teaching Service Commission (PP-TESCOM), now Teachers’ Establishment and Pensions Office, by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and later as board member of the Lagos State Scholarship Board. Until her recent position, She was appointed and sworn in as the Secretary to the State Government by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) in July, 2011.
MRS. OLABOWALE ADEMOLA
Olabowale Toluwatope Ademola is the Lagos State Head of Service. She was born in London on November 10th, 1957 to the Phillips family of Lagos Island.
She had her Primary Education at Corona School, Yaba and Lagos University Staff School after which she proceeded to Queen’s College, Yaba, Lagos where she obtained her West African School Certificate and Higher School Certificate.Thereafter, she was admitted to the University of Ibadan where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree (Second Class Honours – Upper Division) in Economics. She also holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Lagos Business School (LBS). Her working career began with Price Water House & Co. Upon qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, she joined Guinness Nigeria Plc where she commenced as a Management Accountant and rose to the position of Acting Brewery Accountant. She also worked at the First Interstate Merchant Bank (Nig) Ltd. she joined the Lagos State Water Corporation in 1995 and rose to the level of Assistant General Manager (Commercial). 4 years after,she came into the mainstream of the Lagos State Civil Service, and was deployed to the State Treasury Office which serves as the parent Ministry for Accounts Officers. Various ministries she had worked includes the Ministries of Housing; Economic Planning and Budget; Physical Planning & Urban Development; and Education. In 2006, she was redeployed to the State Treasury Office where she rose to the level of Director of Accounts on Grade Level 17.
In June, 2010 she was appointed as the Permanent Secretary of the defunct Debt Management Office.Until her appointment as the Lagos State Head of Service she was the Permanent Secretary Civil Service Pensions Office.
HON LOLA AKANDE
The Commissioner for Women Affairs is a product of Queen’s School, Ibadan, she holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) with specialization in Public Policy from University of Lagos and also, a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from the same institution, having earlier obtained a B.Sc. (Hons) in Botany) from the prestigious University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University ), Osun State. A political icon, she was before her current appointment as the Commissioner for Women Affairs Poverty Alleviation, the Deputy Majority Leader of the 7th Lagos State House of Assembly having previously held the position of the Deputy Chief Whip of the same House Representing Ikeja Constituency 11. Conversely, before these positions she was actively involved in different political activities and held both elective and appointed portfolios at various periods. She was a Chairmanship aspirant for Ikeja Local Government on the platform of the then Social Democratic Party (SDP); Secretary, Justice Forum Ikeja Local Government ; Ex- officio member (UNCP) Ikeja Local Government and elected member of Lagos State House of Assembly 2007, as well as, Board member of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority 2007 amongst others.
Nevertheless, Hon. Lola Akande’s working experience started in 1983 when she observed her mandatory National Youth Service Corp with Cadbury Nigeria Limited Ikeja, in the Technical Service Department.
However, after completion of her NYSC in 1984, Hon. Lola Akande joined Lagos State Teaching Service Commission in 1985 and taught till 1991. From 1991 till date she worked as the Chairman of Fibsol Ent.
NOSIMOT ADEBIMPE ADESOLA
Hon. (Mrs) Adebimpe Akinsola is the Special Adviser on Arts and Culture. she was born on October 6, 1961 in Igbogbo Area of Ikorodu, Lagos. She started her educational pursuit at U.A.M.C (Eleja) Primary School, Igbogbo and thereafter graduated as a Grade II Teacher from Government Teachers’ College, Igbogbo. She proceeded to Lagos State College of Education, Oto-Ijanikin, where she was awarded with National Certificate of Education in Languages. She also bagged a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) Degree in French Education from Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye. Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola taught in various schools under the former Post-Primary Teaching Service Commission & Education, District IV of Lagos State. Among the various positions of responsibilities held during this period was the Head of Department of Languages at United Christian Junior Secondary School & Apapa Senior High School, Apapa, Lagos.
She was elected to represent the people of Ikorodu Constituency II under the party platform of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the Lagos State House of Assembly in 2011.
YETUNDE AFUSAT ONABULE
She is a distinguished Lawyer and astute administrator, she born on the 15th day of March, 1976 in Lagos, to the illustrious Fasinro family. She started her elementary education at Corona School, Victoria Island, Lagos and later attended Lagos State Model College, Badore for her post primary education where she passed her Senior Secondary Certificate examination. She then proceeded to the famous University of Buckingham, Buckinghamshire in the United Kingdom for a degree in Law, she graduated in 1998. She advanced her academic pursuit at the University of London, Kings College from where she obtained her Master’s Degree in Computer and Communications Law. She was called to the Nigerian Bar and admitted as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria (B.L) in 2003 after successfully completed her Law School.Whilst in the United Kingdom, Mrs. Yetunde Onabule cut her professional teeth in the legal world between 1999 – 2001.. She commenced her career in Nigeria with the law firm of Jackson, Etti & Edu. (Barristers & Solicitors), she is an astute Solicitor and Barrister with over 15 years professional experience. She is currently a member of the Lagos State Executive Council and she was subsequently assigned the portfolio of the Special Adviser on Urban Development..
UZAMAT AKINBILE
For pharmacist-turned-politician, Princess Uzamat Folasayo Akinbile-Yusuf, Commissioner for Youth and Social Development is fondly called with the Moniker–Moremi of Alimosho. She was appointed the Supervisory Councillor for Agric and Social Development in Agbado/Oke Odo LCDA. She had her primary education at Ansar-Ud-Deen Primary School, Ile Ife. On completion she gained admission into the Seventh Day Adventist Grammar School; Ile Ife. After which she was admitted to University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos for her B.Pharm. Uzamat is a successful business woman who started early in life in Ile-Ife under the tutelage of her mother to eventually own a conglomerate consisting of Musaroq Nig. Ltd, Beta Silver Crown Ltd, Musaroq Pharmaceuticals, just to mention a few.
In Politics she made remarkable impact as an active member of the All Progressive Congress of Nigeria from inception till date. Where, as Supervisory Councillor, Agriculture, Rural and Social Development in Agbado/Oke-Odo she took positive advantage of her position to benefit different CDAs, Sportsmen and Women.
ARAMIDE GIWANSON
Hon. Giwanson Mudirat Aramide has horned her career in corporate world for over a 30-year period culminating in her appointment, on October, 19th 2015 as Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing. Born on the 9th of December, 1965, her father hails from Itogbesa in the Ojo Local Government Area and her mother from Ajido in Badagry Local Government Area of Lagos State. Aramide had her primary education at St. Micheal Anglican Primary School, Ojo Lagos,She gained admission into Government Teachers’ College, Ajara Badagry, Lagos State where she obtained her Grade II Certificate. She later attended the Lagos State College of Education now known as Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education where she obtained her Nigeria Certificate in Education. she then attended Lagos State University, Ojo Lagos State where she obtained Bachelor of Education in Guidance and Counselling. Hon. (Mrs.) Giwanson .M. Aramide has served in different capacities in the Education sector.
FOLASHADE TOSIN OGUNAIKE
Folasade Oluwatosin Ogunaike is currently the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Establishment Training and Pensions.born on 9th August, 1957.
She began her secondary education at the famous. Methodist Girls’ High School, Lagos where she earned her West African School Certificate (WASC). At the Ibadan Grammar School she obtained Higher School Certificate (HSC).She then proceeded to the University of Ibadan to acquire a Bachelor of Arts (B.A Hons) degree in English. At the University of Lagos was where she had her Post Graduate Diploma in Education. An indigene of Lagos State, joined the service of the Lagos State Teaching Service Board as a Master Grade 11 and subsequently promoted to Master Grade 1. In 1983, she came into the main stream of Lagos State Civil Service Commission where she worked in various Ministries and Offices to garner valuable experience. These include: Ministry of Employment and Civil Service Matters as an Administrative Officer 11/1 and Office of Head of Service and Secretary to State Military Government. Mrs. Folasade Ogunaike, an ebullient and dynamic administrator also served in the Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture as Principal Personnel Officer/Board Secretary (Ministry of Information) She later had a brief stint at Applied Services Limited as Human Resource Manager. It was her vibrancy and enterprising performance that culminated in her appointment as an Assistant Director to head women Affairs Department in the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in 2005. She rose to the position of Director in that Ministry. In Feb 2015, Mrs Folasade Oluwatosin Ogunnaike was appointed as Permanent Secretary Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Cabinet Office, by former Governor, Babatunde Fashola (SAN).
OLADIMEJI GRACE EBUNOLA
Mrs. Grace Ebunola Oladimeji is the Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs. She had her first elementary education certificate in 1969, followed by a West African School Certificate and a Higher School Certificate.
She later proceeded to the prestigious University of Ife, where she bagged her first Bachelor Honors (B.A.) degree. she later went back to University of Lagos, where she obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Education followed by a Master Degree in Public Administration from the same Institution.
Mrs. Grace Ebunola Oladimeji joined the Lagos State Government in 1981 as a Year Tutor/ Classroom Teacher.. She was later posted to the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives in where she served in various capacities. she was later posted to the defunct Plans, Programmes & Budget Bureau now known as the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget. she became Head of Planning and Budget, in her new place of posting, which was the Ministry of Finance.
She had held many enviable positions in the Lagos State Public Service .In February 2014, Mrs. Grace Ebunola Oladimeji became a Permanent Secretary and was posted to Ministry of Home Affairs.
OMODELE JOYCE OSUNKIYESI
Dr. Omodele Joyce Osunkiyesi is the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health. She attended the University of Ibadan from where she obtained the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree. While there, she graduated with honours distinction in Physiology and Pharmacology. She also obtained a Master of Public Health degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Batimore USA. In addition, Dr Osunkiyesi bagged a certificate in Strategic Leadership in Population and Reproductive Health from The Bill and Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health. She is also a fellow of the Medical College of General Practice (FMCGP) having been inducted into the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in 1989. Her public health experience as seen her heading the directorates of Primary Health Care at the Lagos State Local Government Service; She was also a Consultant, Family Practice with the Federal Government. Until her appointment as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health; She held sway as the Director, Family Health and Nutrition also at the Ministry.
FUNMILOLA ODUNLAMI
Funlola Adesola Odunlami, is a product of Queen’s School, Ibadan and a graduate of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) where she obtained her LL.B and LL.M Degree and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1983. She is now the Permanent Secretary,Ministry of Special Duties and Inter Governmental Relations.
She started her career in the Legal profession at the Ogun State Ministry of Justice as a State Counsel Grade II in the Directorate of Public Prosecution. She transferred her service to the Lagos State Ministry of Justice and was posted to the Directorate of Civil Litigation where she was till December 1990. From there she was posted as a Senior Legal Officer to the Office of Administrator General and Public Trustee (AG&PT) where she was for six years until she was posted to the Directorate of Commercial Law in 1996 as a Chief State Counsel.Mrs. Odunlami rose through the ranks to become Director of Commercial Law Directorate in and in addition is the first Registrar Limited Partnership Lagos State.Mrs. Odunlami has been involved in negotiation and drafting of many contract agreements on behalf of the State Government. She was also part of the team that successfully defended State Electoral Commission in respect of various election petitions held between 1990-1997.
She is the Assistant Secretary of Ikoyi Baptist Church and Treasurer of her Housing Estate.
ADEBUNMI ELIZABETH ADEKANYE
Adebunmi Elizabeth Adekanye (nee Ajisafe) is now the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Special Duties and Inter Governmental Relations. She was born on 22nd June, 1961 in Lagos Island. She attended St. Matthias Catholic School, Lafiaji Lagos for her primary education and Methodist Girls High School, Lagos for her secondary education.She then proceeded to the Federal School of Arts and Science, Victoria Island, Lagos between for her Higher School Certificate–Advanced level, after which she was admitted to the University of Ibadan (UI) where she bagged a Bachelor of Science, B.Sc (Hons) in Sociology. She also holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Obafemi Awolowo University. Ile-Ife, Osun State. Her career as a Civil Servant began in 1986 when she was given appointment as an Administrative Officer GD VIII/Assistant Sec. II (Personnel) with Ministry of Youths Sports and Social Development. In August 2014, she was deployed to the Office of Drainage Services, Ministry of the Environment as Director, Administration and Human Resource, where she rose to the peak of the Civil Service, with her appointment as a Permanent Secretary on 3rd August, 2015 and was deployed to the newly created Office of Civic Engagement.
BOLADELE DAPO- THOMAS
Boladele Aderemi Dapo–Thomas, a scion of the Bamgbose Family of Lagos Island who was born in the United Kingdom is the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
After her elementary and secondary education, Mrs. Boladele Adeyemi Dapo- Thomas proceeded to the prestigious University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) Ile–Ife where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Literary studies. she did her National Youth Service at the then Ondo State University, Ado– Ekiti as Graduate Assistant. In her desire for exemplary career in Public Service, Mrs. Dapo–Thomas returned to her Alma Mater for Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Administration in 1990.She is also an alumnus of the Harvard Kennedy Executive Education Programme and has certifications from the Oracle University as well as courses in Management and Leadership.

ABIODUN ASHIRU
Mrs. Elizabeth Abiodun Ashiru is the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of the Environment. Born in Zaria, Kaduna State on 26th December, 1956. She commenced her primary education at Baptist Day School, Zaria and finished at Bishop Oluwole memorial school, Agege. She proceeded to Premier Grammar School, Abeokuta, Ogun State and later to Hope Grammar School, Ilesha where she eventually obtained her west African School Certificate (WASC). She gained admission into the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria from where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. She was deployed to Bauchi State for the mandatory National Youth Service and served at the state Ministry of Information.
She joined the Lagos State Public Service on 27 July 1981 as a Higher Executive Officer GL.08 and worked at the Lagos Island local Government till October 2003 when she left the Local Government Service. While in the Local Government service, she served as secretary to various levels. She later went on to serve as Head of Personnel Management (now known as council manager) in Surulere, Eti-Osa and Oshodi-Isolo local Governments before her transfer into the mainstream civil service.
In recognition of her dedication and commitment to duties, she was nominated to represent the office of the Special Adviser on Education on the governing councils of the Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH) and Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH). Following significant contributions to public policy development across diverse Ministries in the mainstream civil service, Mrs Elizabeth Abiodun Ashiru, in October 2007, was appointed Sole Administrator of Alimosho Local Government. Before her appointment, Mrs. Elizabeth Abiodun Ashiru, was the Director, Administration and Human Resource in Lagos State Civil Service Commission.
AMOSU SEWANDE AYODELE
Sewande Ayodele Amosu nee Avoseh was born on the 5th of July, I958 in Oyo, Oyo State. She attended St Andrews College Demonstration School, Oyo, United Missionary College Demonstration School, Ibadan, Queen’s School, Ibadan, Atakumosa High School, Osu, Osun State and University of Ife, Ile Ife from where she obtained a B. A. Education (French) and the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife from where she had a Master of Art degree in Education Technical. She started her teaching/administrative experience at the Eric Moore High School, Surulere when she was employed as a Master Grade II Officer and she was at the Ife Girls’ High School, Ile Ife. she has been heading the directorate of Private Education and Special Programmes.
FIYINFOLUWA ADENIKE OGUNBANKE
Mrs. Fiyinfoluwa Adenike Ogunbanke was born on the 1st of July in 1958 to the Kosoko–King family of Lagos Island. A holder of a first degree from the University of Ilorin, a post-graduate diploma as well as a Master’s degrees in Development Administration and Management from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom, Ogunbanke commenced her public service career in the Lagos State Civil Service in September 1983. She later went to study for a Bachelor of Law degree from the Lagos State University and today, she is a Barrister at Law as certified by the Nigerian Law School. She has served as Secretary, Lagos State Economic Summit Group and numerous others. Until date, she has been the Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Indeed, she played a critical role in shaping planning and budgeting and was a household name in the new outlook of monitoring and evaluation in Lagos State.
YETUNDE ADEFOLAHAN ODEJAYI
The Permanent Secretary, Office of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Yetunde Adefolahan Odejayi was born on 21st June, 1961, by Reverend & Mrs. J. A. Badejo of blessed memories, who were indigenes of Ijebu– Igbo, Ogun State. She started her primary school education at Government Teachers Training Demonstration Primary School, Ilesha. On completion of her primary school education, she was enrolled at Methodist High School, Ilesha, where she obtained her WAEC O’level. Her foray in tertiary education, started at the Adeyemi College of Education in Ondo State, where she obtained an NCE certification.She later went to University of Benin where she obtained a Bachelor degree in Adult Education (History). She later bagged two other masters degrees in Education and Public Administration both from University of Lagos, Akoka.
Mrs. Yetunde Adefolahan Odejayi’s professional career in the Lagos State Public Service commenced in October, 1986, when she took appointment as Master Grade II, GL. 08, under the now defunct Lagos State School Management Board, where she rose to the post of Senior Education Officer, GL. 10. During her stint under the board, she taught in various schools which includes, School of Basic Studies, Ikorodu, Onike Girls High School, and Stadium High School, Agege. In January, 1991, she transferred her service to the main stream of the State Civil Service and was deployed to the then Lagos State Commission for Women Affairs. Subsequently, via conversion, she was re-designated as a Principal Administrative Officer, GL. 12. A cadre in which she grew through the echelon to the post of Director (Admin. & Human Resources) in July, 2015. She has served in various capacities and MDAs and Office of the Deputy Governor. She is the pioneer Director of Finance & Administration Directorate of Lagos State Judiciary, she was also a pioneer Director of Finance & Administration Directorate of the Office of Special Adviser on Central Business District. She is married to Dr. Olusegun Odejayi and blessed with 4 children.
AYODELE OMOWALE ODUGBESAN
She is the Executive Secretary, Lagos Judicial Service Commission. Born into the family of Mr. & Mrs. Oluyinka Sosan on the 2nd of April 1953, she attended Queen’s School, Ede/Ibadan and then moved to Adeola Odutola College, Ijebu Ode for Higher School Certificate (HSC) and subsequently secured admission into the University of Ibadan in 1972 and left with B.A. (Hons) English. She later went to University of Lagos to read Law and graduated with LL.B (Hons). She equally attended Nigerian Law School and was called to the Bar in 1980. With these sound academic and professional background, she joined the Lagos State Civil Service in 1981 as a State Counsel in the Ministry of Justice (Department of Civil Litigation). She transferred her service to the Oyo State Ministry of Justice in 1982 until August 1984 when she opted for Ayo Odugbesan & Co. where she was exposed to properties and other land matters. She however left in 1990 and moved to the Banking Industry, (Gateway Bank of Nigeria Limited) as an Assistant Manager (Legal) from where she proceeded to the Ultimate Mortgage Finance Company and served as Secretary/Legal Adviser and Head of Corporate Affairs. She was appointed Senior Magistrate Grade II and rose through the ranks to the Chief Magistrate Grade I (Admin). She has served at various Magistrate Districts, among which are Ikeja, Lagos and Apapa Magisterial Districts. She gracefully bowed out of service in 2nd of April 2013 having attained statutory retirement age for Magistrates.In recognition of her sterling contribution, positive attributes and commitment to the service in the past; she was appointed the Executive Secretary, Lagos State Judicial Service Commission on the 2nd April, 2013.
IBILOLA KASUNMU
Engr. (Mrs.) Ibilola Kasunmu started her career in public service at the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency where she rose to the position of the Senior Manager in the Special Projects Department.She gained invaluable experiences from the Agency before she was absorbed into the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, in 2012, as an Assistant Director in the Power Department. She later became the Head of Power Department in the Ministry; it was in the same vein she was appointed the General Manager of the Lagos State Electricity Board. She has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Lagos and she is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) respectively.

YETUNDE GBAFE
Florence Yetunde Gbafe is another one. With over 20 years experience, Yetunde began her career with the Lagos State Government as a Legislative Officer II on Level 08 and was deployed to the Office of the Establishments and Service Matters in 1993. She presently serves as the Executive Board Secretary of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrim Welfare Board.She was born in Lagos and had her early education in Lagos State. She had her Secondary School Education at Methodist Girls High School, Yaba, Lagos, where she obtained her WAEC. She proceeded for her higher education Degree Program to study Arts at Lagos State University, Ojo and there she was awarded with Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) and she, later attended University of Lagos for her Masters Degree Program and was consequently awarded Masters Degree in Public Administration in 2009.Yetunde is happily married to Adebola Martin Gbafe and they are blessed with children.
FOLASHADE ONANUGA
Mrs. Folashade Onanuga is a renowned Chartered Insurance Practitioner. She graduated from the famous University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) with a 2nd Class Upper (Honours) Degree in English Language.With over 27 years management experience, Mrs. Onanuga started in the insurance sector with Glanvill Enthoven Life & Pension Consultants where she literarily cut her teeth and rose within the period of 5years to the position of a Manager. She rose from the position of Controller to Assistant General Manager in a short period. She was formally appointed the General Manager/Chief Executive Officer of the subsidiary Company. Upon the eventual takeoff of the Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC), she was invited by the government of Lagos State to use her wealth of experience to position LASPEC for effective pension administration in Lagos State Public Service when she was appointed the pioneer Executive Director (Technical) of the Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) on the 1st February, 2010, a capacity in which she served for 5 years. In recognition of her talent, she was appointed as the Director General of Lagos State Pension Commission.
DR SODEINDE
She is the Permanent secretary, Lagos State Primary Health Care Board, she was the Medical Director/ Chief Executive Offiicer at General Hospital, Ifako-Ijaiye, before her present position, she was also the Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Ministry for special duties and intergovernmental relations, she is the Managing Director of Ijede Health Care Centre, Ikorodu. She attended University of Liverpool and had Master of International Management, she later proceeded to College of Medicine, University of Lagos where she had another Master in Public Health (MPH), she is also an alumnus of Royal Postgraduate Medical School, of Imperial College, London where she obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Internal Medicine.
ONISAROTU JEMIL
She is a Director at Ministry of the Environment and also a Permanent Secretary at same parastatal. She attended University of Benin, Benin City and bagged a bachelors degree certificate in biochemistry.
ODUNLAMI FUNLOLA ADESOLA
Born on the 2nd of March 1961 to the Osinibi family of Ogun State. She had her secondary education at Queen’s School Ibadan and Government College Ibadan where she obtained her O’ Level and A’ Level Certificates respectively. She proceeded to University of Lagos Akoka, Lagos for her Law Degree and graduated with LLB (Hons.) Thereafter, she obtained her BL at the Nigerian Law School and returned to the University of Lagos, Akoka for her postgraduate degree- LLM (Hons). Mrs. Funlola Odunlami commenced her legal career in Oyo State Ministry of Justice where she served in the Department of Civil Litigation as a Youth Corp Member and proceeded to Ogun State Ministry of Justice to serve in the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
Mrs. Odunlami joined the Lagos State Civil Service in 1987 working in the Civil Litigation Directorate. she moved to Administrator-General & Public Trustee Directorate until 1996 when she was deployed to the Commercial Law Department and rose to the position of Director of Commercial Law, Ministry of Justice. She held that position until her appointment as Permanent Secretary on the Monday, 3rd August 2015. As Director of Commercial Law, Mrs Odunlami also acted as the Registrar of Limited Partnerships in Lagos State.
BILKIS ADEBIYI ABIOLA
She is the General Manager of Lagos State Parks and Garden.She is the CEO of a recycling company, Wecyclers, in Lagos. She was educated at MIT and came to notice due to a novel approach to recycling based on tricycles and SMS. Adebiyi was born in Lagos where she went to the Supreme Education Foundation secondary school. She entered the University of Lagos, but she left the University of Lagos after a year to complete her studies in America. She graduated from Fisk University and then went to Vanderbilt University where she earned a master’s degree. She worked for IBM for five years before deciding to study further. She was accepted to study for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
FUNKE MOORE
Mrs. Olufunke Abayomi Moore is the GM, Radio Service at Lagos State Radio service. Born in Lagos on the 5th of September 1963 to the family of Chief and Mrs. Adeniyi Johnson-Agiri, Funke is a native of Epe, Lagos State. She had her Primary Education at the L.A Primary School, Isolo, Ile-Iwe Meta, Lagos. Mrs. Moore attended Marywood Grammar School, Ebute- Metta. She also attended Epe Girls’ High School where she obtained her WASC. From her Secondary School days, she had this desire to pursue journalism as a profession so on leaving secondary, she proceeded to the Daily Times of Nigeria Training Centre, now Times Journalism Institute for a one-year course in newspaper reporting. She was also at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) where she obtained a diploma certificate in Journalism. Mrs. Moore joined the Lagos State Broadcasting Corporation, LSBC. She graduated from the Lagos State University with a B.A in English Literature. She also obtained a Master of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Lagos. She has served in different capacities at Lagos Television including Director of Current Affairs and Director of News before she was appointed the General Manager of Lagos State Radio Service on 3rd August, 2015.
