On Sunday, 19th February 2023, Oba (Dr) Adedapo Tejuoso, the Osile of Oke Ona, Egbaland celebrated his 85th birthday, at his Palace, in the Sapon area of Abeokuta. The grand event shut down Abeokuta, as it was attended by the movers and shakers, in and outside Ogun State. Prominent personalities stormed the ceremony, in huge numbers. Apart from the major ceremony, Oba Tejuoso bestowed chieftaincy titles on new chiefs.
Amongst this new chiefs, were 2 Lagos society women, Yeye Mopelola Adefuye and Yeye Esther Ogundele. These 2 women dazzled at the party. City People’s Society Editor, TAYO OYEDIJI and SUNDAY OYEMADE captured the event.
ABOUT THE 2 BEAUTIFUL FRIENDS
The 2 newly installed chiefs by Oba Adedapo Tejuoso were Chief Mrs Mopelola Adefuye and Ambassador Esther Ogundele. This beautiful women are close friends at least we can tell you that they have been friends for close to 40 years. Another milestone in their lives are these 2 titles bestowed on them. Both of them are known to do things together and this ceremony was not an exception, as they did their own after party together. Ambassador Rotn. Chief Mrs Esther Ogundele who is the first Yeye Bajela of Oke Ona, Egbaland is a successful business woman with over 40 years of experience. She graduated from Royal Polythechnic College, a private owned College in Yaba. She also attended Mount Camel Convent Catholic School, in Ebute Metta Lagos. She is the CEO of EB and Sons Nig Ltd. (Mansion Cute). Chief Mrs Mopelola Adefuye AKA Beere of the Universe who is the first Bibi-Ire of Oke Ona, Egbaland hails from Abeokuta in Ago Ododo, Abeokuta North Local Government, Ogun State. She is married to Prince Ajibola Adefuye, a gentle man from Ogbere Ijebu, Ogun State. She was born into a Muslim family on Tuesday 26th April 1960 but converted to Christianity by status of her marriage, they are blessed with beautiful children and precious grandchildren. Beere began her educational pursuit at Salvation Army Primary School, Freeman Street, Ebute Metta, Lagos. She proceeded to Lagos City College, Sabo, Yaba, Lagos for her secondary education. Afterwards, she worked as a flight announcer with the defunct Nigeria Airport Authority, now FAAN between 1977-1979. She proceeded to the Aviation School in 1989 and became an Air Hostess with the defunct Nigeria Airways where she flew local and international flights for a decade. She started her own business in 2004 when Cheratin Guest House, Ogbere, Ijebu was established. Beere Mopelola Adefuye is a fashionista and a role model of distinct.

Oba Adedapo Tejuoso’s 3 Oloris: Omolara, Yetunde and Olabisi are like a mother hen to the new Yeyes. They were at the ceremony all through. In fact, the 3 of them tied the Gele Ebi picked for the ceremony. They were seen at the installation and after party celebrations. They celebrated the 2 women specially in the brochure for the event where the Oloris referred to them as darling sisters and friends.

The Colour code for the party was Purple. The monotone colour looked beautiful on every women and ladies who attended. There was no Aso Ebi picked but there was Gele Ebi which was worn by all the society women.

For Oba Tejuoso, God has been good to him. He just clocked 85 and also it was his 34th year coronation anniversary. He has always celebrated all his birthdays by giving chieftaincy titles to individuals who deserve it. He looks good at 85 and this tells you that the first class Oba is aging well.
JUMOKE KOSOKO, A FRIEND INDEED
At the ceremony was one woman who many accorded respect. She is Pastor Mrs. Jumoke Kosoko, a big time Textile merchant who is a very close friend of Yeye Mopelola Adefuye. She stormed Abeokuta with her husband, Chief Kosoko and her retinue of friends.
She was up and doing at the event making sure everyone was attended to. She shares a close friendship of over 40 years with Yeye Mopelola Adefuye, the new Bibi-Ire of Oke Ona, Egbaland.
IYALODE ALABA LAWSON WAS THERE
Whichever way anyone might want to look at it, the fact remains that Chief Alaba Lawson is a distinguished woman of substance as she represents greatness. Lawson is a business magnate and reputable academician.At another note, she is the Iyalode of Egbaland, the biggest chieftaincy title available to a woman in that great land. She was at the ceremony to support Oba Tejuoso and the 2 new Yeyes and having also gotten a title from Oke Ona. She is also the Iyalode of Yorubaland, a title given her by the late Alaafin.
HOW OBA TEJUOSO GAVE THEM TITLES
At the ceremony of the installation of Chief Mrs. Mopelola Adefuye and Amb. Esther Ogundele as Yeye Bibi Ire and Yeye Bajela of Oke Ona, Egbaland which took place at the palace of Osile- Oke-Ona, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso, Ago-Ika, Abeokuta, the titles were conferred on them by the application of olive oil on their forehead by Oba Tejuoso and they were equally presented with a certificate and staff of office.
RECEPTION PARTY WAS AT OOPL
The colourful party took place at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, (OOPL) Foremost event planner, cute and simple was on top of her game, she planned and coordinated the event very well. The venue seated over 500 guests who stormed the city for these 2 women. Guests were entertained sufficiently and treated to a nice music for the evening.
