by Reporter

Femi Esho, the Nigerian music promoter and founder of Evergreen Musical Company, has passed away.

Esho died at the age of 77.

Bimbo Esho, his daughter, confirmed his demise via Facebook on Tuesday. My Loving Dad May your Gentle Soul Rest In Peace Esho Baba (sic),” she wrote.

However, she did not reveal the cause of death or the exact date he died.

Esho was Born in Ilesa, Osun state on November 29, 1946.

In May, he collaborated with DK Olukoya, founder of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), to launch the Evergreen Music Heritage Foundation.

The foundation is designed to be the “largest music museum and gallery in Africa”.

The project includes a music museum, a gallery, and a library that showcases head busts of artists. It will also feature a display of over 1,000 pictures of Nigerian musicians dating back to 1914, relics of their costumes and old musical instruments, an event centre for music concerts, a cinema theatre, and a recording studio.

The foundation is scheduled for completion by December.

Bimbo Esho, who currently serves as the managing director of Evergreen Musical Company, described the project as a “historic landmark that will stand the test of time and outlive all of us.”
