How did you start Acting and performing?
I have been performing on stage for seven years. I actually started doing movies and television series last year and I was featured in Jenifas Dairy, Relatives on African Magic and on stages I have done Queen Moremi the Musicals, legends, Elebe the story teller to mention a few. I have also been part of the Lagos film festival since 2014 till date.
How you did get the role to act queen Moremi in the Movie?
It started with Auditions. So I went for Auditions for Moremi the Musical with hundreds of people and we had a lot of call backs. A lot of people also got call backs, I was just actually the understudy for Moremi and that was how it happened.
What are the attributes about Queen Moremi that caught your attention and made you wanted to act that role?
It is not about me but about what the director wants. So we go audition and we might not know the role we would be choose to play and that was the case for Queen Moremi the Musical.
Why do you think you were chosen out of hundreds to act the lead role Moremi?
I don’t know but I think you would have to ask Mrs Bolanle Austen Peters because she is the director of the play and she decided to use me.
How long did it take for Queen Moremi the Musical to be put together?
It took us about two month and it was very challenging. It is a large cast production with over a hundred and fifty on production so it was very tasking to put all that on stage.
What is the Movie about for those who have not seen the Movie or heard the History?
For those who have not seen or heard about Queen Moremi, I would say they should google or read a book about her because it is important we know our history. It is about our history and not fiction. Queen Moremi is a legend. She lived in Nigeria from the Yoruba clan. There were a lot of problems in her community and she decided to take it upon herself. She Sacrifice her family and everything she had in order to help her people, so basically Moremi is about sacrifice. I’m not going to go into the details, so people should just read about it and see it.
Would you agree that the Movie Moremi brought you out?
Well. Yes I would say that it added to what was on ground. I had already done some plays before Moremi but I would say Moremi has added to my Talent and credibility. A lot of people would see my now and says oh that girl was on Moremi and I will like her to be on our production. Yes Moremi has added a lot to me and thanks to Mrs Bolanle Austen Peters for the opportunity and BAP Productions for devoting their time to me.
After Moremi, what is next?
I will be in lots of Movies and television series this year, so you guys should just watch out for Tosin Adeyemi and also Moremi will be showing this Easter for as many that was not able to see it in December and January, so you should get your ticket. It is showing April to May.
You seem to love what you do. Why acting of all profession?
I know I was born for this. I studied it in the University and continued. It has been something that I love doing since I was a child and that passion led me through. Performing is what I have always wanted to do. I love dancing, singing, acting, doing voice over, so I would say this is me pursing my passion and God also blessed me with the talent. You know some people just have talent, while some have the passion, but for me it is everything in one and I am grateful to God.
