The Nigerian gospel music scene is buzzing with a fresh wave of talent, as new-generation artists are redefining the genre with their unique styles, powerful lyrics, contemporary sounds, and inspiring messages. Here’s a spotlight on some fast-rising gospel ministers who are leaving a mark both locally and internationally.

 

 

  1. Bakare Boluwatife Oluwatobi (BBO)

Bakare Boluwatife Oluwatobi, popularly known as BBO, made an unforgettable debut during the COVID-19 pandemic with a viral worship snippet titled Igbatoba Tewalorun. Rooted in Ijebu, Ogun State, his music journey has inspired many.

 

BBO’s rise to fame began in the midst of personal challenges. Struggling financially during the pandemic, he turned to God in prayer, seeking direction and solace. His life took a huge turn when he spent three days at a prayer mountain in Ibadan. It was during this time of deep reflection and prayer that BBO experienced a divine encounter, which led to the creation of Igbatoba Tewalorun, a worship song that would change his life forever.

 

Originally shared as a short snippet, the song quickly went viral, capturing the hearts of many worshippers. The overwhelming response propelled BBO into the spotlight, marking the beginning of his musical career. His passion for worship and his commitment to spreading the message of God’s love through music became evident as his fanbase grew.

 

In 2024, BBO’s ministry reached new heights as he made his debut visit to the UK for the Praise The Almighty program, hosted by the renowned Evangelist Tope Alabi.

 

  1. Ebuka Songs

Ebuka Emmanuel Hillary, popularly known as Ebuka Songs, is a Nigerian gospel artist and songwriter celebrated for his soul-stirring worship music. Born on May 10, 1992, in Obinze, Imo State, Ebuka grew up in a devout Christian home that deeply influenced his passion for music and faith.

 

His journey began as a worship leader during his time at Imo State University, where he graduated with a degree in Theatre Arts in 2019. In 2021, Ebuka released his debut album, Midnight Cry, showcasing his heartfelt style of worship. However, his big break came in 2023 with the release of the hit single I Will Pray, a song that quickly became a gospel anthem. That same year, he was signed to Spotlite Nation by renowned gospel artist Moses Bliss, further elevating his career.

 

Known for his spiritual depth and lyrical intensity, Ebuka has released several impactful tracks, including Jesus Oh (featuring Moses Bliss), The Name of Jesus, and Fade Away. His music continues to inspire audiences globally, earning him a spot on YNaija’s 150 Most Interesting People in Culture list in 2023.

 

 

  1. Greatman Takit

Greatman Takit, born on March 11, 1992, in Surulere, Lagos State, is a Nigerian gospel artist celebrated for his powerful lyrics and modern sound. Originally from Kwara State, he grew up in Abuja and studied at Government Science Secondary School, Pyakasa, and the Federal University of Technology, Minna.

 

Greatman’s passion officially took flight in 2011 with his debut single, Ain’t Nobody. This was followed by IJO in 2013 and Farewemi in 2014. His first EP, Wildfire, released in 2016, featured notable tracks like Jungle Up Here and Run, earning him recognition in the gospel music scene.

 

As a former member of the gospel group The Gratitude, Greatman contributed to numerous impactful songs before embarking on his solo career in 2020. He released Sound of Rain in 2019, followed by his second EP, Energy, in 2021, showcasing his growth as an independent artist.

 

Greatman’s music continues to evolve, blending traditional gospel with contemporary vibes. Recent releases such as Look What You’ve Done, Correct, Commando further solidified his status as a leading voice in gospel music.

Minister Paul Tomisin is a powerful gospel music minister and the visionary leader of Herald’s Ministry, a Christ-centered organization dedicated to spreading the gospel through music. Born on February 25 in Ondo State and raised in Lagos, Paul has become renowned for his unique gift of blending ancient and revelational sounds with modern music, making his ministry relevant to today’s generation.

 

Known for his apostolic mandate of healing, Paul’s music has been a source of spiritual restoration and inspiration, bringing healing to the sick and broken-hearted through the words and sounds he shares.

Paul is deeply involved in his faith and serves in the RCCG Living Seed Church, The Bridge, Lagos, under the leadership of Pastor Leke Adeboye.   1. Anendlessocean

Ayobami Emmanuel Alli-Hakeem, professionally known as Anendlessocean is a fast-rising Nigerian gospel artist and songwriter. Born in 1996, Anendlessocean has captivated listeners with his unique blend of contemporary gospel music and traditional African rhythms.

 

Raised in Abuja, Nigeria, Anendlessocean hails from a family with roots in Edo and Ondo States. His musical journey began at a young age, with his passion for gospel music nurtured through church choirs and local music groups. Despite facing personal tragedy when he lost his mother at the age of 14, Anendlessocean found strength in music, which has since become both his refuge and a medium for conveying his deep spiritual messages.

 

In 2018, he officially launched his music career with the release of his debut single, Falala, which marked the beginning of his rise in the gospel music industry. His follow-up single, Alakori, released in 2020, significantly expanded his fanbase, solidifying his place as a rising star. Anendlessocean’s debut EP, Apeirogon (2021), was met with immense success, surpassing 100,000 streams across various platforms.

Abidemi Ayodeji Ogunmolu,popularly known as Bidemi Olaoba, is a renowned Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, and composer, celebrated for his unique style of Gospel HighLife music infused with a Fuji flair.

Born into a Christian family in Lagos, Nigeria, Olaoba hails from Ikale Okitipupa, Ondo State.

Olaoba’s musical journey began in the church, where he served as a worship leader at Christ Apostolic Church. His passion for music grew within the CAC Music Ministry and the Redeemed Christian Church of God, where he honed his talents and eventually ventured into professional music. In 2016, he released his first single, Final Say, marking the official start of his career. His distinctive sound, paired with his popular catchphrase, “The Bible Says,” quickly caught the attention of gospel music lovers.

 

His performance at Marathon Praise, an event organized by the Redeemed Christian Church of God, helped solidify his reputation as a gospel music force. Olaoba has since released six studio singles, two live performance compilations, and several collaborations with fellow gospel artists. His reach extends beyond Nigeria, as he has performed in Europe, America, and across African nations.

 

Olaoba is also the pioneer of the virtual concert Unrestricted Praise, which began in 2020. The concert has featured gospel luminaries such as Tope Alabi, Mike Abdul, Buchi, and Eben, and has become a prominent platform for global worship. In addition to his virtual concert initiative, Olaoba has performed at some of Nigeria’s largest gospel events, including Marathon Messiah’s Praise by the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Festival of Life in various countries, MASS, HI-impact Praise, and COZA.

 

 

  1. Tosin Bee

Tosin Bee is a renowned contemporary African gospel artist celebrated for his distinctive ALUJO sound, which blends traditional percussion instruments such as the talking drum, drum set, Shekere, and Omele. This fusion of rich African rhythms adds a unique flavor to his music, making his performances truly captivating. A gifted singer, songwriter, and anointed minister, Tosin Bee has composed several powerful songs that have resonated across continents. Some of his most popular tracks include You Are God, Soromidayo, No Lockdown, Testimony, Blessed, and It’s Happening. These songs, which incorporate multiple languages including English, Yoruba, Pidgin, as well as elements of R&B and Soul, have earned him considerable airtime on radio stations across Nigeria and beyond.

  1. Prinx Emmanuel

Prinx Emmanuel, is a Nigerian Afro-Gospel singer, songwriter, music producer, and sound engineer. Known for his dynamic and uplifting sound, he has performed at The Experience, Nigeria’s biggest annual gospel concert hosted by Pastor Paul Adefarasin of House on the Rock, sharing the stage with renowned gospel artists such as Travis Greene, Naomi Raine, and Sinach. His collaboration on the hit song Kumama Papa with Moses Bliss and Grace Lokwa gained widespread recognition and was featured among Spotify’s Top 10 Nigerian Easter Gospel Songs in 2022.

 

Prinx Emmanuel holds a BSc in Marketing from the University of Port Harcourt, where he graduated in 2021. Hailing from Abia State, Nigeria, he began his musical career at an early age and has since built a strong presence in the gospel music scene. Some of his popular tracks include My Pikin, Hallelujah, and Kumama Papa, which have earned him recognition both in Nigeria and internationally. Prinx is committed to spreading the gospel through music, and his ministry continues to touch lives across various platforms.

 

 

  1. Pelumi Deborah

Minister Pelumi Deborah, is a talented Nigerian gospel music artist, songwriter, and professional. Raised by her grandparents, who were also music ministers, she was introduced to the world of music at an early age. Pelumi began singing in the choir when she was just four years old, and as a teenager, she ministered at various concerts and local churches.

 

In early 2023, she made her debut with the release of Erujeje (The Fearsome One), a powerful track where she expressed herself through captivating chants. The song has resonated with audiences both locally and internationally, gaining widespread recognition. As Pelumi Deborah continues to ascend in her musical career, her passion for using music to inspire others to draw closer to God remains at the core of her mission.

 

To date, Minister Pelumi has released several impactful songs to bless the body of Christ, including Erujeje (The Fearful One), Aanu (Mercy), and Niwaju Oba.

 

 

  1. Neon Adejo

Neon Adejo Yunisa, better known by his stage name Neon Adejo, is a Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, and worship leader, widely recognized for his hit song Eze Ebube. Born on October 24 in Ikoyi, Lagos State, Nigeria, Neon is the first of six children in a Muslim family. Although he was raised as a Muslim, he later converted to Christianity, a decision that has greatly influenced his music and ministry.

 

Neon Adejo earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History and International Relations from Kogi State University in 2013. He began singing at the age of 13 and officially launched his music career in 2014. His musical journey gained significant momentum when he released his second album and debut EP, Songs of Gratitude, in March 2021. The album, which features tracks like Eze Ebube and Breathe Upon Me, received positive acclaim. In September 2022, he announced the release of his third album, Nothing But The Gospel.

 

Neon Adejo’s songs include Nothing But The Gospel, Songs of Gratitude (EP), and Tell The World, with singles such as Take It Away, Chinecherem, Onyenemema, Amen, Eze Ebube, and Eze Ebube II and others.
