Plateau state governor, Simon Lalong
The headquarters of the country’s Nollywood Film Industry may be relocated to Jos, the Plateau State capital.
Governor Simon Lalong disclosed this when he announced that he had accepted the proposal by the industry’s stakeholders to move the headquarters to the state.
Lalong spoke at the Presidential Lodge of Government House, Jos on Monday, when a musical artiste, Pankshak Zamani, who grew up in the state, visited him.
Zamani, fondly called “Ice Spring” said he was in the state with his entourage to groom some young musical talents. He added that his visit was also to participate in the annual music show, The Rock.
The governor said his administration would continue to encourage every group that is committed to grooming the youths to promote the entertainment industry.
He explained that he would work hard to realise the dream of making Jos the national home of the film industry.
Lalong promised to host Zamani and other musical artists who were raised in the state during Easter.
