Oba Adesesan Oguntayo celebrates 25th Anniversary as The Ajalorun of Ijebu Ife

Tuesday June 22nd,2021 was a day of thanksgiving, as the entire people of Ijebu Ife converged at the Palace to rejoice with Oba Adesean Afolorunso Oguntayo, the Ajalorun of Ijebu Ife who celebrated his 25th anniversary on the throne of his fore-fathers.

The event was held at the ultra modern “Legacy Hall”, an edifice situated right inside Ajalorun’s palace in Ijebu Ife, Ogun state.

Oba Oguntayo is a highly regarded king in Ogun state. He stands tall among his contemporaries as a distinguished archiever who stops at nothing to get things done the right way. His emergence as the 42nd Ajalorun of Ijebu Ife,25 years ago is a blessing to the ancient town as the land has undergone great transformation over the years.

The celebration was laced with prayer sessions and thankgiving services by both the Christian and the Muslim faithfuls in the town.
They all came together with love to rejoice and identify with their beloved king.

Representing the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun at the event was the Ogun state Honourable Commission for Local Government and chieftancy in Ogun State, Afolabi Afuwape.
In his goodwill message, he felicitated with the king acknowledging his strong will for supporting development oreinted projects on the state government across the state. He hereby said the government would relent on bringing even development to nooks and crannies of the state.

Part of activities done for the day was good will messages from the Ilamurens, the Otunbas, Chiefs, Baales and the ICAD’s representatives respectively. They all showered encomium on the king and describing his uncountable records of personal and communal achievements.
This was followed by the cutting of a well decorated cake for the anniversary, presentation of a well delivered toast to the celebrant by the Mekun of Ijebu Ife, Chief Ademola Adekoya, photo sessions and the reception proper were guests and people of the town were given delicious treat.
