A Nollywood comedy movie written and directed by Odunlade Adekola, ‘The Vendor’, will be showing in five US states.
Group executive director of Filmhouse Cinemas and MD of FilmOne, Moses Babatope, made this known.
According to Babatope, ‘The Vendor’ has shown great potential outside the shores of the country since its release in September.
In a chat with journalists, he said the comedy will show in cinemas in Dallas, Maryland, Chicago, Houston and Indianapolis.
The movie is about a disgruntled local newspaper vendor, played by Adekola, who is suffering from entitlement syndrome.
He has a knack of looking down on everyone comes across and is dissatisfied with his fortune in life. Although he blames his lack of ambition and success on his immediate environment, he is actually a lazy man who prefers to spend his days complaining and putting down the efforts of those around him.
‘The Vendor’ stars Adunni Ade, Jide Kosoko, Eniola Ajao, Ireti Osayemi, Kayode Olaseinde, Tunde Bernard, and Bolaji Amusan.
Adekola recently won the best actor in a comedy category at the 2018 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA).
He took the award for his role in ‘A Million Baby’, defeating Kalu Ikeagwu, IK Ogbonna, Blossom Chukwujekwu, OC Ukeje and Jimmy Olukoya.
