Iconic Nollywood actor and producer, Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello, has stated what to expect about his much-anticipated TV series production, titled ‘Alagbara’, which he did exclusively for Nigeria’s leading digital cable network, StarTimes Nigeria.
Speaking with newsmen at a brief get together held at the prestigious Radisson Hotel, Ikeja, Oga Bello revealed that the series would commence airing on ST Yoruba from November 18, 2018. According to him, “The 26-Episode series focuses on the power, influence and manipulative abilities of women in the society.”
“The series shall address diverse societal issues and entails lessons for everyone from all walks of life will find the series interesting. It focuses on and how men are controlled, manipulated, influenced, and reshaped by the women in their lives.
The production is loaded with the giants in the Nigeria movie industry, who gave in their best for the satisfaction of their fans and viewers. Some of the cast include Ebun Oloyede, Funsho Adeolu, Dayo Amusa, Ronke Ashodi Oke, Toyin Adegbola, Yemi Solade, Femi Adebayo, Sotayo, Dele Odule, Bukky Arugba among others.
Speaking on Oga Bello’s choice of TV partner, the veteran actor stated that he picks StarTimes because of its roots in indigenous programmes and the general acceptability by Nigerians as the most affordable and customer friendly gestures to subscribers.
He also added that Startimes has been tested and trusted as a TV station (on terrestrial and cable) that considers quality production for the satisfaction of their subscribers.
Some of the cast of the movie also express their appreciation to Oga Bello to be part of the must-watch TV series. Veteran actor Funsho Adeolu admitted that the series is not one of the regulars that viewers come across on TV and assured that the series will be worthwhile.
Dayo Amusa who happened to be one of the Alagbaras in the movie also made bold to say whatever comes from the stable of the Salamis is no doubt a blockbuster and encouraged Startimes subscribers to stay tuned.
