Talk of what you can call the newest and biggest event centre in Abeokuta, Ogun state, then Providence Centre will come to mind. Although the one stop event place with different facilities just began operation, it has been the talk of the town since its launching.

It took him a whole 10 years to put the centre together, so he is delighted that it has finally come up. “I bought the facility in 2007 and construction started in 2008. It took the whole of 10 years because I tried to control my costs by directly sourcing all the components through direct purchase and labour. Of course, the pace must also depend on the direction of the financiers, in this case, GTBank that supported me at 4 different times. So, I am happy that the 10-year dream has finally birthed,” he explained to City People.
For those who are familiar with Abeokuta, the Providence is located on Abiola Way by NNPC Mega Station, but not many people know that its construction has been going on since 2008 before Dlk events centre came on stream. It is owned by Providence Nominees and Real Estates Limited, the company actually wanted to bring a kind of Jogoor Centre, Ibadan to Abeokuta, but today it is bigger than its initial plan. Come September 29th, the official grand opening and concert will be held for Providence Centre with the likes of Olamide, 9ice live in the rock city.
