The Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) held an inauguration ceremony yesterday for the Oyo State Technical Committee (OYSTC) and Oyo State Expatriate Monitoring Committee (OYSEMC) of Engineer Regulations Monitoring and Enforcement at the Government House in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Engineer Professor O.A.U. Uche, FNSE, Registrar, made the opening remarks on behalf of COREN, and Professor Sadiq Zubair Abubakar, FNSE, FAENG, President of COREN, delivered the welcome address. The ceremony also featured former Deputy Governor of Osun State and two-term Senator Engineer Dr. Sen. Iyiola Omisore, Ph.D., FNSE, FAEng, CON, who performed the certification, licensing, and regulation of artisans in Nigeria under the NFQS programme.
The event was a success, with Senator Iyiola Omisore receiving commendation from Oyo State Governor Engineer Oluseyi Makinde, who praised him as a distinct politician with a second address, unlike many others.
