His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II has congratulated management and staff of Citypeople Magazine on its 25th anniversary.
In a letter signed by His Royal Majesty, the Ooni commended the Publisher, Seye Kehinde for his doggedness and commitment to consistently disburse the publication every week for 25 years and still running.
He wrote:
On behalf of the entire house of Oduduwa worldwide, I am elated to write this piece in acknowledgment of City People Magazine’s silver jubilee which indeed is a celebration of 25 years of excellent accomplishments.
Established 25 years ago, City People Magazine which is top among Nigeria’s soft-sell entertainment publications has continually set an unbeatable pace in creative writing and factual reportage as well as ensuring a favourable image for the country in the international community.
Rather than thriving on falsehood and half-truth, City People chose and adhered to core principles of uncompromising fact-finding as well as objective presentation which have so far become its editorial philosophy.
Aside from the provision of media content for Nigerians in an entertaining and refreshing form, City People Magazine is equally a major contributor to human development and capacity building through the provision of direct and indirect employment opportunities for Nigerians, especially the youths.
In all honesty, 25 years of consistent publication and adherence to ethics of the job is worth celebrating and I cannot but congratulate members of the management team, editorial board members, advertisers, and all stakeholders as well as readers of City People Magazine.
