Sunday 3rd September 2017 was a day to remember in Osapa London, a town in Lekki, Eti Osa local govt area of Lagos. This town has witnessed a dramatic development in the recent years. Osapa London is home to the Eletu Odibo family, one of the most influential families in Lagos today. The town was originally called Osapa village, opposite Jakande Housing Estate in Lekki.

The Eletu Odibo family is one of the most popular families in Lagos, not just because they control the large expanse of land but because their late father was an icon, whose contributions to Lagos State development remains the talking point till today. Late Gbadamosi Bamidele Eletu Odibo was the Traditional Prime Minister to the King of Lagos during his lifetime. The Eletu –Odibo installs and crowns the new king in Lagos.

The town (Osapa) is about 200 years old. The meaning of Osapa is ‘Lagoon is Calm’ according to Prince Kazeem Eletu Odibo.

One of the reasons why Eletu Odibo family celebrates Osapa day is that, in the year 2003 the Eletu Odibo family won their land case with Ojomu family and since then they have been celebrating it and this year makes it the fourth. Osapa day is also called Ojude Oba but that name has been delayed until High Chief Tajudeen is confirmed and crowned the King of Osapa London. Who is High Chief Tajudeen? He’s a high profile Chief, not only in Osapa but in Lagos generally. He is the head of the family of Eletu Odido. There are 3 Eletu brothers who control Osapa London. They are Prince Kazeem Eletu Odibo, Prince Ademola Eletu Odibo and Alhaji Mudashiru.

At the recent Osapa day, the 3 brothers, who are arguably the 3 richest brothers in Lagos today, arrived at the venue of the event together. They have always been known to live together in harmony and attend parties together.
During Osapa day two weeks back, these 3 (brothers) again were seen together, clothed in a white outfit, matched with gold chains. He appeared in a white attire with beads and gold chain on his neck, matched with a black shoe, made of gold. He had friends and well-wishers who came to celebrate with him, one of them is Lagos State Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kayode. Prince Kazeem is a property guru, whose name rings a bell anywhere it is mentioned in Lagos today. He is a socialite, a philanthropist, and a business tycoon.

He has single handedly built his father’s legacy to an enviable height, he is the brain behind 80 percent of infrastructures in Osapa London today. He constructs roads, bridges, all for free. The recent one is the construction of Chief Gbadamosi Bamidele Avenue road in Osapa.

The fourth Osapa day started with brief introduction from Mrs. Omobolanle Adebayo, who is the right hand of Prince Kazeem Eletu Odibo. Shortly after, popular Radio Presenter, Soji Omotayo and ‘Obama’ climbed the stage to kick the event open.

The event lived up to its billings, as popular fuji star, Sule Alao Malaika serenaded guests and well-wishers with his melodious songs. The event also had fuji icon in attendance, Adewale Ayuba.

Another personality who also dazzled is, Mrs. Wosilat Eletu Odibo; she is the oldest child of the late Chief Gbadamosi Bamidele Eletu Odibo; she juggles between Nigeria and USA. She made sure everything was on point as she moved from one place to another, ensuring guests, friends, and family were well attended to.

There are 5 sisters of Eletu, they all live in the USA. They are; Wosilat, Muslimat, Sherifat, Kuburat and Faliat Gbadamosi Eletu Odibo. The two wives of Alhaji Mudashiru were also present. They are, Ashaji Omowunmi and Ashabi Olabisi.
