Last week Monday, 13th of May 2019 Oba (Dr) Adedapo Tejuoso, the Osile of Oke Ona Egba celebrated his 30 years on the throne, at the Osile Palace, Sapon area of Abeokuta. The grand event shut down Abeokuta, as it was attended by the movers and shakers in and outside Ogun state, amongst were, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi , the Ooni of Ife, the Ogun state governor-elect, Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun, Ogun former Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, three-time Ogun gubernatorial aspirant, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka to mention a few. PASTOR EMMANUEL OLATUNDE BECOMES AJIPOLUWA
Pastor Dr Emmanuel Adebola Olatunde, was born on the 30th July, 1954 in Lagos State He hails from Odo Eku in Isin Local Government of Kwara State. He started his educational pursuit at the Yaba Methodist School, Yaba in 1960. In 1969, he proceeded to do his secondary school at the Kings College Lagos. From there, he proceeded to Igbobi College Yaba, Lagos in January 1973. In September 1973 he left Igbobi college for the University of Ife. He passed out in 1973 with a degree of B.sc Agriculture. He then proceeded to do his masters in Business Administration, at the University of Lagos in October1973. He finished in 1980.
He started his working career at the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCT) in January 1981 as a trainee officer in the central credit department. He rose through the ranks to the post of Assistant Manager and left the bank in April 1989. He thereafter had a short stint at the nationwide Merchant Bank from August 1, 1989 to July29, 1990 where he served as the head of the credit and export department.
He proceeded to Victory Merchant Bank as the Manager Treasury and investment in August 1990. In victory merchant bank he rose through the ranks to the post of Assistant General Manager and acted as the Managing Director at various points in time at the bank. He left Victory Bank in 1996 to establish his own Outfit, Top Score Ventures Nig Ltd.
MRS KEHINDE OLATUNDE BECOMES ERELU AJIPOLUWA
Mrs Kehinde Omobolanle Olatunde, was born on the 18th July 1960 in Lagos State. Shw hails from Ijebu-Ilesha in Osun state. She started her educational pursuits at the Mount Carmel convent school Ebute Metta in the year 1967. She finished her primary school in the year 1972 and proceeded to Doherty Memorial Grammar School, Ijero Ekiti from 1972 to 1977. She started working in the year 1978, at the Nigerian Ports Authority, Lagos. She later left for a brief stint at the National Bank of Nig. Ltd.
She left National Bank in 1981 to continue her educational pursuit by proceeding to the college of education, Ijanikin Lagos in 1982. She obtained her National Certificate of Education (NCE) in 1984.thereafter she taught for some years at the Navy Secondary satellite town Lagos. In the year 1987. She proceeded to the University of Lagos where she obtained B.Ed Guidance and counseling in 1991.
After her degree programme she began her own business named Tokadamon Nig Ltd, a fashion designing outfit. She later went into various types of businesses. She joined her husband to establish a catering outfit called Choppies fast food and outdoor catering in 2002 which has catered for the high and mighty in the society.
In July 2012, along with her husband they established a ministry called Transformation Arena; a ministry involved with the transformation and rehabilitation of area boys and girls around Ojuelgba and its environs.
ALHAJA TAOFEKAT AFOLABI BECOMES OSI IYALODE
Alhaja Taofeekat Abolaji Afolabi(Nee Babayemi), was born on the 25th of may 1972. The daughter of Alhaja Fatimot and Alhaji Tiamiyu Atanbala Babayemi of the prestigious Ikereku compound, Abeokuta.
She attended Alafia Nursery School and then Isabatudeen Secondary School, before proceeding to the Polytechnic Ibadan for her tertiary education. She attended the aviation school for air course in Air Hospitality and graduated with an IATA certification.
She joined her mother in the Textile business at Old Gbagi market in Ibadan and after a while, she moved to New Gbagi market to start her own franchise. This was her pivot to success as she furthered her business by venturing into other businesses which included real wax ( Ankara), under the brand name “HI TARGET” battery sales under the brand name “TAO BATTERY”. She also imports candles under the name “TAO CANDLES” brand along with the “BJ SOAP” subsidiary.
Now, she’s an established career businesswoman She commissioned her 72- room 4 star hotel, PALMS 77 at Ikolabab Agodi, Ibadan which has won awards that include the Jumia Travel Customer’s choice and the wedding shoot friendly hotel amongst others. She is also currently working on a 200 room hostel at the premier university of Nigeria, university of Ibadan.
A woman of great virtue and an eye for business, she has caught the attention of elites. She is also the Agbaakin Balogun Iyalode Parakoyi of Ibadanland.
PROF. ALEXANDER MACGREGOR BECOMES OLORI PARAKOYI
Professor Alex Olusegun MacGregor hails from Ilawo Oke Ona. He is the Olunla of Ilawo. He is the son of the late Chief Harry Adebisi MacGregor, former Oluwo of Ilawo, Olori Parakoyi Oke Ona and Lisa of Egbaland. His grandfather is the Late Chief (Captain) G.B. MacGregor, the pre- eminent Balogun of Ilawo Egba and progenitor of MacGregor Clan in Egbaland. On his marital lineage, Professor Segun MacGregor is the grandson of the Late Prince J.S. Sule Ademiluyi and the great –great- grandson of the his imperial majesty Oba Ademiluyi Ajagun the 48th Ooni of Iile ife.
Dr MacGregor is a distinguished professor of bio-pharmaceutics, the founder and current president of the Toronto Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology (TIPT), Canada premier postgraduate institute of pharmaceutical science technology and research. Dr MacGregor also holds several senior executives positions in both private and publicly traded biopharmaceutical and education companies in Canada. He is the CEO of KLC college of healthcare, business & amp; education, chairman & Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) at Orx pharmaceutical corporation, Director at Molecular Science Corp., Director and Chief Scientific Officer at Anahit International.
He was an appointee in 2001 by the government of the people’s republic of China, as an International Expert Advisor in the field of Pharmaceutical Technology and Research and more recently was the first Canadian pharmaceutical expert to address the Mexican Senate on pediatric applications of medical cannabis.
Dr MacGregor is a seasoned business entrepreneur, a pharmaceutical inventor and a noted expert in translating advances in pharmaceutical and medicine science into sustainable business. Internationally, Dr MacGregor is a recipient of several patents in the field of pharmaco-theraphy, medical treatment and advanced drug delivery technologies most notably from Canada, us, Australia, Europe, Latin America, china, India, Singapore, Indonesia and Japan. MacGregor inventions have led to ground breaking new therapeutic drugs for the treatment cancer, management of diabetes, systemic infections and post operative pain.
Dr MacGregor was named one of one – hundred and fifty extraordinary Canadians in 2015 in commemoration of Canada’s 150 years anniversary. He is a recipient of notable community awards of execellence; Ontario Black History Luminary Award in (2010), Harry Jerome trailblazer award in (2008), African Canadian Achievement Award in science & amp; and Technology (2004), Planet Africa Science and technology award (2006) and the organization of African union -6th chapter (OAU) Serengeti award 2012.
He was educated at Ibadan Grammar School in Nigeria; Bembridge College, Isle of Wight ,UK and received honours degree (Magna Cum Laude – BSC) in Medical Biochemistry and doctor of philosophy (PhD) in clinical pharmacology from the University of Wales and the royal post graduate Medical School London, the UK.
AYO OLUSANYA BECOMES BABA ETO
Ayotunde Olusanya, an event and media management expert, was born 55years ago in Ibadan to the family of an astute administrator and a teacher, Mr. and Mrs. Oluwole and Mary Olusanya, all from Ago Iwoye, in Ijebu north local government of Ogun State and of blessed memory. Ayo is the third child of four children with two in USA (Kemi and Soji) and Rolayo the last one married to the Ladele family in Ibadan.
Little Ayo had his primary education and early secondary in Ibadan before coming to Abeokuta Grammar School to complete secondary education. He is a Master degree holder of Public Administrator from the Ogun State University with a PhD (in view). Ayo has been involved in a number of businesses in as media management, advertizing outdoor, print and Electronic Public Relations, Sport Management, politics and lately full event management.
Ayo’s major breakthrough in business can be attributed to the almighty God and Chief Mrs Alaba Lawson Asiwaju Iyalode then, who took him to late Mama Bisoye Tejuoso,3rd Iyalode of Egbaland to consult for Teju foam at the international trade fair in Lagos in 1994 and that opened doors to other companies after the success Ayo served in various cerebral capacity with the government of his Excellency Otunba Gbenga Daniel.
CHIEF LAWRENCE ESAN BANKOLE BECOMES
Chief Lawrence Esan Bankole was born on 18th September, 1939 to the family of late Chief and Mrs James Bankole of Ijoko,Omunla Abeokuta Ogun State, Nigeria. He is the third child of his parents.
He attended African Primary School, Igbogila and also St John School, Igbein Abeokuta (later named Kuto Primary School, Abeokuta). He moved to Lagos in 1955 and continued his education at new era primary school.
Chief Bankole, briefly worked with the defunct Colonial Development Corporation (CDC). He went into business as a young entrepreneur drawing from his experience from CDC. He became an importer of sunglasses, growing to become one of the renowned importers of his time. Presently, Chief Lawrence Esan Bankole, a seasoned entrepreneur and philanthropist is the chief executive officer and chairmen of several companies.
