On Friday, 16th September, 2022, the sleepy town of Oye-Ekiti in Ekiti State, came alive as the matriarch of the popular Popoola Dynasty in Oye-Ekiti, late Prophetess Victoria Popoola (JP) was laid to rest.
It was a befitting burial as the children and family members paid their last respect. They all stormed Oye-Ekiti in Ekiti State. Many dignitaries also made it there to support the children. She was the biological mother of popular business tycoon and politician, Otunba Ademola Popoola.
It was a 3-day event. The celebration of life for late Prophetess Victoria Popoola kicked off with a Commendation Service on Tuesday, 13th September, 2022, at C.A.C Goshen Land, Sode Arole, Apete, Ibadan. This was followed by Service of Songs at Victoria Garden Event Place, situated at Poly Road, Alaro Bus-Stop, Sango, Ibadan. And Praise Night also took place at the same venue.
On Thursday, 15th, September, there was a Christian wake at her residence, Popoola House, Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), Phase 2 Road, Felax Filling Station, Oye-Ekiti, while another Praise Night was held at her residence.
On Friday, 16th September was the main day. The remains of late Prophetesss Victoria Popoola was first laid to rest in her compound at Popoola House in Oye-Ekiti before the family left for Thanksgiving Service at C.A.C., Oke-Isegun, Oye-Ekiti, after which the entertainment of guests took place at Our Ladies Seat of Wisdom, Oye-Ekiti.
Describing the life and times of late Prophetess Victoria Popoola, Otunba Ademola Popoola said their mother was a virtuous woman, a mother who gave all she had to better the life of her children and served humanity.
