IT ALL STARTED FROM ALAKE’S PALACE
It was a beautiful Saturday morning at the palace of Alake of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Okukenu IV, The Alake & Paramount ruler of Egbaland. The beating of traditional drums, accompanied by beautiful songs and different performances to welcome the guests to the palace were top-notch. Everywhere was beautifully decorated, and the individual banners of chiefs to-be were hung both outside and inside of the palace. The police, security agencies and Palace guards were all on standby. Though every road that led to the palace on the day of the event was busy, yet many of the chiefs were already seated in the hall, waiting for the arrival of the King and for the event to commence properly.
BEHOLD THE TRIUMPHANT ENTRY OF THE CELEBRANTS
When Otunba Saheed Yemi Lawal and his amiable wife, Olasumbo came down from their car, it was one moment most people were waiting for. The ever-stylish Yemi Lawal and his beautiful wife did not disappoint, they looked so gorgeous in their outfit, and became the cynosure of all eyes as they walked in majestically into the palace; serenades by local drummers who also couldn’t wait to see the man called Otunba Yemi Lawal.
AND ALAKE OF EGBA ARRIVED
Intense beating of the Local drums announced the presence of His Royal Majesty Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Okukenu IV, The Alake & Paramount ruler of Egbaland, flanked by the popular Egba socialite woman, Madam cash and some of the notable chiefs. It was a standing ovation for the king until he got to his seat, and individual groups started coming out to pay their homage before the commencement of the conferment.
AND IT WAS OTUNBA YEMI AND HIS WIFE’S TURN
The conferment of Chieftaincy was turn by turn, considering the numbers of chiefs to be install, and when it was Otunba Yemi Lawal and his wife’s turn, they were invited to the podium where Kabiyesi with other dignitaries were seated for the proper conferment. After the prayer from the King and other notable chiefs, Otunba Yemi Lawal was finally decorated with befitting beads and titled cap, and was pronounced Osi Bobagunwa of Egba. The same process was done for the wife and she was also pronounced Erelu Osi Bobagunwa of Egbaland.
AT THE RECEPTION
The reception took place at the newly built prestigious hotel of former Governor Otunba Gbenga Daniel. The hall for the reception was beautifully decorated. The security of the place was on point with Eldorado Security on duty. You will love the settings and the ambience of the environment. Inside the hall were the guests, already seated and waiting for the newly installed Osi Bobagunwa of Egbaland and his amiable wife, Erelu Osi Bobagunwa of Egbaland.
TOLU OBEY WAS ON THE BANDSTAND
There is no doubt that Tolu Obey, one of the sons of the veteran Juju musician, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey has remained one of the wave-making juju artistes rocking the juju music scene now. He was on the bandstand at this occasion, and to say his performance thrilled all the guests is an understatement. He actually stole the heart of many dignitaries with his scintillating performance. His carriage, charisma and movements on stage is one of the tricks he’s using to win many people’s heart. The whole hall erupted in excitement when he started rolling out some of the old-school songs of his father, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey. Without mincing words Tolu Obey is one of the best now when it comes to Juju music.

Doyin Okupe, Erelu’s brother was very much on ground to support Lawal’s family. He was seen seated with Ogun State Governorship aspirant Mr Gboyega Nasir Isiaka popularly known as GNI. They were very supportive of Yemi Lawal and wife.

Former MD of First Bank Plc, Bisi Onasanya dazzled with wife. He was very much around to rejoice with the newest Osi Bobagunwa of Egbaland and his wife, Erelu Bobagunwa of Egbaland.

Among the pretty celebrity babes that dazzled at the event is the socialite woman, Joke Sogunro. Her entry into the hall drew lots of admiration. She made several heads turn with her beauty as well, gorgeously dressed in her black outfit with expensive and matching shoe and jewelry.
