The Eko Hotel and suites were painted green on Saturday, August 10th when popular Lagos lawyer and former Lagos Commissioner, Supo Shasore and his pretty wife, Gbemi Shasore threw a show-stopping wedding for their daughter, Dara. Dara got married to Dr Tosin Babalola in a colourful engagement ceremony. It was a very colourful event which had in attendance top personalities which include the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo Olu and his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat and many others. It was an assemblage of many society women from all walks of lives who came to support the couple’s mothers. The bride’s parents are very prominent and this was very obvious as the convention centre of the Eko Hotel and Suites was filled to the brim. The Babalolas were also not left out as their family and friends graced the beautiful engagement ceremony. To say style was on display at the event is simply stating the obvious because celebrity women and babes dazzled in different styles of outfits with their gele Aso Ebi. The colour code for the party was green and many guests were seen rocking the net Aso Oke headgear from one of the veterans in the Aso Oke business, Bisbod ventures by Mrs Odukale. Makeup artists, designers and jewelry sellers were busy all the weekend catering for one guest’s needs to the other. The engagement was planned by foremost event planner, Zapphaire Events while the decoration and stage were handled by Sarao Events.
The bride and groom glowed colourfully in a lovely Aso Oke outfit from Deola Sagoe and deco-d29. The bride was made up by celebrity Makeup artist, Bimpe Onakoya and the beautiful moment was captured by Photonimi.
The couples mums also looked beautiful in their tan coloured Aso Oke. The bride’s mum, Gbemi Shasore is the daughter of Dr Simi Johnson, the first female orthodontist in Nigeria. A graduate of the School of Basic Studies, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and the New York Institute of Technology, where she studied Communication Arts and Public Relations, she is a public relations practitioner and an event management consultant. She has had a notable career in charity and non-governmental work as President, International Women’s Association; Charter Member, Zonta International; Chair, Access to Knowledge Ltd GTE. Their beautiful 26-year marriage which produced three children makes the bride, Dara, one of them.
The bride’s father, Olasupo Shasore, SAN is a partner in the law firm of ALP (Africa Law Practice) and was Attorney General & Commissioner for Justice, Lagos State. Many celebrity women and big babes made the wedding hashtag #thebashunion trend massively with their uploaded pictures on their various social media pages. From the over 200 celebrity women who graced the event and dazzled in their green ensembles was the former first lady of Lagos State, Dame Abimbola Fashola, you can be sure that her style is always very simple and neat. Sighted was also Dr Mrs Siju Iluyomade, the founder of Arise Women and Handsmaiden women in leadership series, She was the cynosure of all eyes with her well-designed custard colour velvet lace and multicolour headgear. At the party was also Globacom boss, Mike Adenuga’s wife, Titi Adenuga. She also wore a gold lace with the green headgear. What of the former deputy governor of Lagos state, Sarah Sosan, she looked beautiful at over 60. Spotted too was foremost beauty queen, Helen Prest Ajayi who is warming up for her 60th birthday, she opted for a tannish colour French lace. She was in the midst of her friends, the style editor of Thisday style, Ruth Osime and media mogul, Mo Abudu. Ekua Abudu, the pretty corporate woman and daughter of Mrs Dupe Sagoe were also there. The boss of popular kiddies store, Ruff and Tumble, Nike Ogunlesi was her happy self, Tokunbo George Taylor’s outfit said everything. It was a beautiful polka dot fabric sewn into a lovely dress. Lagos State, SSG, Mrs Jaji was also at the party.
The pretty wife of ex-Senate President, Toyin Saraki glowed in a sequined outfit which suited her perfect frame. Diamond queen, Hajia Bola Shagaya looked pretty in a beautiful multi-stone coloured diamond which fitted her body. What of PDP deputy governor candidate, Yemisi Busari, her style was simple and fine. Not leaving out Mrs June Tejuosho, Nike Animashaun, Yemisi Wada, these women never looked their age. They remain beautiful and young at heart.
