Last week, the Committee of Wiv of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) held its Annual Women’s Conference which took place at the Eko Convention Centre inside Eko Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos. The event may have come and gone, but many people were not opportune to be at the 3day Conference which paraded all the who is who in the Lagos corridor of power. There were many top officials of Lagos State government in attendance.
The educating and informing conference with the theme “Strengthening Our Collective Impact“ which lasted from Tuesday 23rd to 25th October didn`t only parade over 7 First ladies, it has many who matter in the Lagos State government in attendance. Not only did most of them make the 3day event, they all rally round the chairman of COWLSO, Mrs Bolanle Ambode, the first lady of Lagos state.
Not only was Her Excellency a perfect host, but she was also cynosure of all eyes as she welcomed many of the first ladies who came to honour them at 2018 COWLSO. Deaconess Ambode who was the one who changed the face of COWLSO stole the show at the 3day event not just because she was the Chief Host but because of the love many of the COWLSO committees has for her. She has been able to show support to many women in Lagos, she has championed a lot of project for the betterment of Lagos women.
She was on standby throughout the event as she welcomed many dignitaries to COWLSO 2018. Looking pretty in a pair of Ankara Jacket with a black paint and face cap to match, she led the over 50 committee members of Cowlso to the event. The Cowlso committee wore the same attire and styles for the 3days. How did she achieve this? By making sure all the members were given the style to rock for the 3day event. To say that the First Lady of Lagos, Deaconess Bolanle is loved among many Nigeria first ladies is like stating the obvious as many of them came to show support to one of their own for the 3 days that the COWLSO 2018 lasted. One of the early caller on the first day of Cowlso was the wife of Ogun State Governor, Mrs Fusho Amosun. She made the event with her Large entourage like Mrs Funmibi Adebayo Oduwole(Wife of Ijebu-Ode Lg chairman), Mrs Caroline Adeneye( wife of the commissioner for information) and others wives of Ogun top politician. So also is Oyo state Firstlady, Mrs Florence Ajimobi who was at the opening of COWLSO 2018. she made the event with the wife of Oyo State Deputy, Mrs Adeyemo. They were also at the Gala Night with the Lagos first lady.
Not many will forget the grand entry of Edo, Osun, Imo and Kebbi first ladies. These women of style surely appreciate Lagos first lady because of her service to Humanity. They were fully all ground for the 3days. Mrs Betty Obaseki joined her husband at the 2nd day of the Conference while Osun First Lady, Mrs Sherifat Aregbesola and Dr Hajia Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu enjoyed all the plenary session with their Sister, Mrs Bolanle Ambode.
It was an array of many Lagos present and past Female Permanent Secretaries, Commissioners and Directors at this year edition of COWLSO2018. They were all out to participate fully in the 3 days world standard women conference. One of the oldest Important Guests who dazzled at COWLSO2018 was no other than Mrs Doja Otedola, the 97 years old mother of Femi Otedola. she was one of the early callers at the official opening of COWLSO. She had no hidden place as many of the women came to pay homage to her. She sat beside one of her old students, Mrs Sinatu Ojikutu who sat with many present and past first ladies like Mrs GLADYS Ndubusi Kanu, Mrs Sarah Sosan, Mrs Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, Yeye Kemi Nelson, Justice (Mrs) Femi Pedro, Ms Jumoke Okoya-Thomas and host of others.
If there is any woman whose joy was filled after collecting their awards at 2018 COWLSO, it was no other than Mrs Stella Chinyelu Okoli, the Ceo and founder of Emzor Pharmaceutical and Celebrity Photographer and songwriter, Mrs Toyin Sokefun-Bello fondly called TY Bello. They both won big at COWLSO 2018. The respected pharmacist was presented with an award because of her support for COWLSO while TY Bello won inspiration woman of the year award.
