Oyo Prominent Group, Oyo Global Forum, Writes Gov. Makinde, Presents

Popular Oyo state social movement, Oyo Global Forum, OGF, has reached out to the executive governor of the state, Seyi Makinde, urging him to address some salient areas of concern of Oyo people.

While commending the Governor for his giant’s strides and numbers of projects executed within the short time he has served so far, OGF stated that it will be an understatement to say that Gov, Makinde has set a new standard for any subsequent governor to beat.
The group, however pointed out other areas that need urgent attention in the State.

The 2-page – letter released by Hassam Adebayo, OGF’s general secretary and signed by Olorunpoto Rahman, the Forum’s Chairman, partly reads;

The pleasure of Your Excellency is humbly requested to note that OGF has for several years not only worked to seek from government optimal service delivery for our people, but has even directly covered service gaps, including provision of deep wells, legal aid, and food aid for the long-disadvantaged populations. OGF annually organises ‘Enterprise Bootcamp’ collaborating with De Montfort University, UK and the University of Ibadan to help start-ups and burgeoning enterpreneurs enhance their capacities and access to resources required for scaling up.

We have been at the forefront of mobilising the energies of our people to confidant Oyo’s troubling incidence of violence, gangsterism and drug abuse. It is in furtherance of our civic role of interceding between our people and authorities that we have written this letter to Your Excellency with a humble request you consider for urgent actions certain issues that are of critical importance to our people this time and for the future.

Areas mentioned in the letter also include Reconstruction of Akesan Market, Establishment of COVID-19 Isolation Centre in Oyo, Completion of the Abandoned Atiba FM Radio Station And Rehabilitation of Ilora sub-Station, Need For A Centralized Location For Operation Burst Security Outfit In Oyo.
