Mrs. BOSE RANSOME-KUTI, Pst Taiwo Odukoya,

It is no longer news that the Late Dr Beko Ransome-Kuti family recently lost Mrs Abosede Folashade Ransome-Kuti on the 3rd day of December 2019, while she was preparing for her 75th birthday in January, and her remains were laid to rest on Friday 10th day of January 2020. Different people had different things to say about the wife of the late Dr Beko and her impact on their lives before she breathed her last. She was a fervent and committed worker of the Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, Lagos for several years before she passed on to glory.

Lagos popular Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, the lead pastor of Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, Lagos, where the late Abosede Ransome-Kuti worshipped revealed shocking things about her. He mentioned that she was a dedicated worker in the church notwithstanding her status in the society and despite her age, she loved to volunteer with the youth to serve in different capacities.

One of the shocking things that were revealed about her was that she made sure she cleaned the altar of the church herself. She would come every week with her cleaning tools to clean the altar, which she did for several years. She was so committed to it that she would not allow anyone stop her even when youths tried to take cleaning tools from her. She was always happy to volunteer for services that would shock people considering her age. She was physically and emotionally strong that her service to God and man was emulated. She made an impact on several lives and she never wanted anyone to be sad around her.

She had a very firm personality and she was a no Nonsense person but a kind-hearted woman who would not leave anyone the way she met him/her . She was always willing to give and there was no one who could stop her. Her love for God and Humanity was evident in her lifestyle and the way she treated people. She was a devoted Christian and she cared so much for people even those she had no relationship with. She attended every church programme even when she got the information under such short notice.

Pastor Taiwo Odukoya also affirmed that she was an extreme giver. He recounted one of the memories he would always remember about the Late Abosede Ransome-Kuti and one of those times was when she transferred some cash to his account and seeing the name that sent the money, knowing full well that she was a widow, he returned the money in folds. He felt that a widow should be taken care of and she should not bother herself sending money. She was not happy about it and she had to send the money back. She had given to the children department countless times and that went a long way to tell her kind of heart.

She was a lover of golf and the Ikeja golf club would not forget her remarkable contribution to the club. In 2013, she became the lady captain of Ikeja Golf Club and she initiated the first lady of Lagos state golf tournament as a way of involving women in the golf game. She made a positive impact on people and influenced those around her to love golf so much.

Not many know that the late Mrs Abosede Folashade Ransome-Kuti was a Matron of Modupe Cole memorial child care and treatment home at Akoko, Yaba, Lagos where she visited time to time with several gift items. She was a philanthropist who picked keen interest in special children so much that she celebrated some of her birthdays with them. Her 70th birthday was so remarkable because she planted 70 trees that were sold to sponsor the needy children on the street and orphanages.

She was a human rights activist and active board member of Women Arise Initiative and she would always join campaigns, walks and affirmative marches for good governance no matter the distance. She was very strong physically and will always be at the forefront of every rally and awareness.  She was involved in agitating for human rights just like her husband the Late Dr Beko Ransome Kuti. She kept the legacies of her husband. She even organised a football match in honour of her husband to encourage young footballers to pursue a career in sport.
