Born on the 25th of December 1935, Philomina Ofuoma bid us farewell on the 24th of July 2023, leaving a significant void in our hearts. Her life was a tapestry of love, joy, and cherished moments that touched many lives with her love and kindness.
A Love that Can Never Fade:
Nene (as her children and grandchildren addressed her) had an unwavering love for her grandchildren. We will always treasure her constant affection and care. She had a unique way of making each grandchild feel special, showering us with love and wisdom. Even in tough times, her advice brought smiles to our faces.
The Endearing Nickname:
Among our cherished memories is the endearing nickname she had for me, “Jessikoko.” Whenever she called me that, it filled my heart with joy. Her affectionate nature made our bond even more special, and I will always cherish being known as “Jessikoko” to her.
A Timeless Connection:
Nene had a special connection to tradition and our culture. She cherished our roots and shared her wisdom with us, her grandchildren. She taught us the importance of our heritage and the value of passing it on to future generations.
A Life Well-Lived:
Though we wish she could have stayed with us longer, Nene lived a life that exemplified purpose and fulfillment. She left a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Regardless of the length of her life, what truly mattered was the love and joy she shared with others.
Cherished Memories:
The memories of Nene’s radiant smile and wise words remain vivid as if she were still with us. Her last words and expressions continue to bring comfort in times of sorrow. Her love made us feel cherished, and these memories will forever be dear to us.

Nene witnessed the growth of even her great-grandchild, exemplifying her role as a loving matriarch who laid the foundation for a strong and united family. Her happiness knew no bounds as she saw the family thrive.
As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, our tears are not only a manifestation of grief but also a tribute to the privilege of having her in our lives. Nene deserves to be celebrated, for her memory will live on in the hearts of all whose lives she touched. Rest in peace, dear Nene; you will forever be our guiding light. We love you always.
