Rivers State Police Command yesterday in Port Harcourt paraded 11 suspected kidnappers and robbers with 1,000 firearms and 15 vehicles recovered at different locations within the state.
Commissioner of Police Zaki Ahmed said the suspects were arrested by operatives of Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS) following the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to mop up illegally acquired firearms and rid the state of criminal elements.

He said the suspects had confessed to be responsible for several kidnappings and robberies in Port Harcourt and its environs.
He said the sensitization campaigns on crime, taken to churches, had yielded a positive result as some cultists had renounced their membership and embraced God.
