Popular events planner, Damilola Ojetokun reveals her success story

by City People

Damilola Ojetokun is a popular Events Planner who is doing so well. She is the Creative Director of Dhamijetevents Ltd. She is a certified Event planner, who knows her onions.
How did her love for Events start? “My craving for event organising started while I was growing up. I realized how excited I get whenever I had the privilege to be a part of the team organizing programs in church and also in our “face me I face you” house, back then in Surulere, Lagos. I will personally ask neigbours to contribute money during festive periods so that we can celebrate our compound party and honestly,  it always turned out to be the talk of the street and it eventually became normal and what our neighbors began to look forward to. Organising events is a passion, for me. I enjoy engaging in it and I handle it seamlessly, not even realizing it will become a career commitment.”

We got her to tell us about the services she offers… “We do a lot. I plan, coordinate and manage both social and corporate events.”
How different is she from the other events people, we asked. “Integrity, clients’ ultimate satisfaction and paying absolute attention to the slightest details are our top priorities. And these made us to be outstandingly different.”

We got her to tell us a little about Damilola. Where was she born? Where did she grow up? All work and no play make Damilola a dull girl. I’m a God-fearing person who loves to commune with God on a daily basis and I feel much better when I contribute both financially and morally to the less privileged. I also love to travel a lot and this aspect has really helped in the output of my services in Events delivery because when I explore outside the shores of Nigeria, I tend to come back with something new, innovative and different. You know event planning is more of creativity and thinking out of the box.
I was born and bred in Lagos, Nigeria.”

How about her schooling? Which schools did she attend and what courses did she do? “I attended Bosbi Day Nursery and Primary School, Ilasamaja, Lagos and I went to Command Day Secondary School, Ojo Military Cantonment and I graduated from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta, Ogun State with an HND in Mass Communication. I have also obtained a Professional Certificate in Events Planning and Management at WED Business School, Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria.”
