•As Members Meet In LAGOS For 2021 Builders’ Conference/AGM
For 4 days, last week, professional builders from all over the country, gathered at D’Podium Event Centre, along Aromire, Off Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja Lagos to hold this year’s Builders’ Conference/AGM during which new exco members were elected.
The event took place from Monday 23rd to Thursday 26th August 2021. The theme for this years Conference was Advancing Technologies, Systems & Standards For Sustainable Building Construction. The Builders’ Annual Conference is the initiative of The Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) which was founded in 1967.
On Tuesday 24th August 2021, the Presidential Night and Merit Award was held in honour of its National Council Members of the Institute, distinguished Guests and Awardees. The event was under the distinguished chairmanship of Mr. Obinna Etele, the MD of Timberlock Manufacturing Ltd. It was organised by, Builder Sunday Wusu and his team in Lagos. Wasu is the Chairman, NIOB Lagos State Chapter and Chairman, Local Organising Committee.
Last week, during the conference, the Nigerian Institute of Building’s new set of Management to pilot the affairs of the Institute at the National level for the next 2 years, 2021/2023 council year were elected.

Over the years, members of the Institute have been promoting the need for Nigerians to make use of professional builders because of the vital role they play in the Built sector.
For the last 2 years, Builder Kunle Awobodu has been the one running the Institute as National President. Until a few days ago, Awobodu led a team of national Elected Officers made up of about 12 members, namely:
