Rapper XXXTentacion appeared to predict his own death in a video posted before he was shot and killed.
XXXTentacion, real name Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, died on Monday after he was fatally shot in what police suspect was a robbery in Miami, Florida.
Following the news, fans shared a video he previously posted on Instagram Live in which he talks about how he would be fine with dying if he knew he had made “at least five million kids happy”.
“If worse thing comes to worst, and I f****** die or some s*** and I’m not able to see out my dreams, I at least want to know that the kids perceived my message and were able to make something of themselves and able to take my message and use it and turn it into something positive and to at least have a good life,” he said in the footage.
“If I’m going to die or ever be a sacrifice, I want to make sure that my life made at least five million kids happy or they found some sort of answers or resolve in my life regardless of the negative around my name, regardless of the bad things people say to me.”
He continued: “I don’t give a f*** because I know my goal in the end and I know what I want for everyone and I know what my message is. I just wanted to say, I appreciate and love all of you and I believe in you all.”
Onfroy was leaving RIVA Motorsports in Deerfield Beach on Monday afternoon when he was approached by two men. Broward Sheriff’s Office said at least one of the suspects shot him. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Broward Sheriff’s Office confirmed the news on Twitter in a statement which read: “The adult male that was taken to the hospital has been pronounced dead.
“The adult male victim has been confirmed as 20 year old Jahseh Onfroy aka rapper XXXTentacion.”
Tributes poured in from fellow artists including Kanye West, Diplo and Travis Barker who hailed him “one of the most f****** talented of our time”
