As the countdown to the Lagos East Senatorial Race hots up, more & more aspirants are joining the race. One of them is Owolabi Jaiyesimi, a big player in the Real Estate sector in Lagos. He is a Lagosian. He is the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Legacy Properties. He has 20 years experience in Banking &Finance, Real Estate, Oil & Gas and Hospitality Sectors.
He had both his B.SC and MBA from the University of Lagos and an M.Sc in Development Finance from University of Stellenbosch Business School. Owolabi has over 10 years cognate experience in the banking industry having worked in Banks such as Equitorial Trust Bank Ltd, Access Bank Plc and Bank Phb (now Keystone Bank) Limited with special bias in the Real Estate and Oil & Gas Sector. He voluntarily resigned from the services of Bank Phb Plc having risen to the position of the Head, Lagos Public Sector.
Prior to his entrance into the banking industry, he had a brief stint at the Telecommunication Industry having worked as the Head of Marketing (Connects Card), Mobitel Limited. He also worked in various Real Estate firms such as Real Property Brokers Ltd, Zenith Properties Ltd as a field person and consultant.
Owolabi started Legacy Properties Limited from scratch as the CEO in 2005 till date and has been able to position the company in the Fortune 500 league having championed a couple of Estate Developments like LEGACY PLACE, PEARLY ESTATE, LEGACY-WAVEOCEAN ESTATE etc and other countless developments.
He has won several awards such as Leadership Newspapers Best Performing CEO In The Real Estate Sector (2018), City People Special Recognition Awards In The Real Estate Sector (2019), Best Performing Real Estate Ceo Of The Year,’ 2015 (Young Achievers Leadership Award), 20 Most Exceptional Ceo’s In Nigeria, 2018 (Celebrities Magazine) etc. Mr Jaiyesimi has been an unwavering voice on how to Reduce Housing Deficits In Nigeria as he has delivered several papers on this at different forum. It is pertinent to mention the fact that he is an expert Housing Finance Advisory having attended several courses on the Shelter Financing in Malaysia, United Kingdom and Mexico.
He is married with kids and belongs to various professional and non-professional bodies such as: Chartered Institute of Marketing, Nigeria American Chamber of Commerce, Nigerian Britain Association, and Chartered Institute of Management Accountant of Nigeria (ClMAN). He also doubles as the Executive Director of the company’s investment arm- HALLMARK INVESTMENT & TRUST LIMITED.
He is the Promoter/President of the NGO, VOLUNTARY YOUTH SUPPORT ORGANISATION OF NIGERIA (VOYOSON) who has in conjunction the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos Chapter empowered countless youths in the area of self-sustenance arid Financing.
He is presently studying to earn his Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Business Administration majoring in Enterpreneurship at the Charisma University{CU), United Kingdom
