Recycling is the process of collecting and breaking down of wastes materials to produce something new from it.
Materials that can be recycled include rubber, plastics, paper, ropes, old cloths, metals, glass etc.
More people are beginning to engage in the art of recycling because if you look all around you, you would find either a recycled tyre turn centre table or recycled plastics turn decorative fences (pieces?) or even recycled papers turn fashion item just like we did with Madera.
The benefits of recycling abound, some of which include reduction in the amount of wastes that take years to decompose, resources saving, money saving and earth saving.
Amazingly our thoughts can be recycled. I’m sure you are wondering how!
Let me explain.
If we don’t want to recycle our plastics for instance, Instead of burning them, we can bury them. This singular act prevents air pollution. Also we can decide to buy foods from organic markets, as this helps sustain the environment.
Vifeomaminds a brand known for creating unique and affordable fascinators in Nigeria, decided to join the recycle challenge because of her desire to see earth saved and her passion for turning wastes into useful pieces.
The project organized by blackpearlmarketplace in collaboration with Milliners association of Nigeria is really a welcome one. While working on this project I appreciated better the need to really save earth and how easy it can be if we all come together to achieve it. I also saw how creative other Milliners are.
We encountered some challenges during this project and one of such is the procurement of certain glue which is not available in our locality so we had to improvise and still made great hats at the end.
This project will have positive effect in our environment because as we collectively gather wastes and convert them into fashionable items like hats, we are at the same time, saving resources, money and energy. The ultimate product/goal would be consciously making efforts to contribute in saving our beloved planet earth.
I ask again: What are you doing with the wastes in your hands?
Why not join us and save earth?
