The much talked about 44th birthday of Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere and 11th anniversary of the church founding took place inside the newly constructed permanent site of Omega Power Ministries-OPM at MbodoAluu in Greater Port Harcourt City. On 29th of October, 2017 the General Overseer Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, played host to more than 2-million church parishioners, friends and well-wishers all under one roof at his 580 plots of land Mbodo Aluu Omega Power Ministries Worldwide Church Prayer Ground in Port Harcourt Mega City.
The founder and General Overseer of OPM as the church is now called Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere having been born on 22nd of October, 1973 to late Mr Emmanuel Chinyere Nwankwo and late Mrs Nwakaego Nwankwo of Ohanku Village Ndoki in Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State.
HIS EARLY EDUCATION
The grass-to-Grace Rise of Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere began from his middle income parentage with a father who was an Insurance Executive and a mother that was a Tutor at Rumuokwuta Girls Secondary School, Port Harcourt. He was set to dream more and surpass his parents’ level of economic attainment. In 1973, his parents were living along Okija Street D/line Port Harcourt, Rivers State. As he was born second among six other children thus he started his primary school education at Seabed Nursery and Primary School and completed it at Army Children School Port Harcourt. He had his education at Government Technical College (CTC) with Akpor Grammar School, Port Harcourt being his last Secondary School that he attended. With hopes held high his travel to Lagos was designed to acquire further education and the popular Yaba College of Technology, Lagos was his next destination where he was given admission at the department of Industrial Maintenance Engineering and after that he got job at NAHCO, Lagos. Per adventure he was hungry for achieving success hence he tried his hands in doing so many jobs including recharge Cards selling business even aspiring to travel to United States of America-USA- for odd jobs but he was not successful at it.
MY ABORTED Usa TRAVEL
While giving testimony at the church Prayer Ground on Sunday October 29th, 2017 Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere told the story of his life how he attempted travelling to USA “As a young man, I was working as a cleaner and later Protocol officer in Lagos, but was not satisfied with my work hence I approached a travel agent to procure travelling Visa from United States of America Embassy, but I had a Yoruba man who was close to the then General manager of British Airways Lagos, and I told him about my plans, but he advised me not to go overseas, but I did not listen to him. He is a good Christian Mr Tunde Pecku was so nice to me opposed to the kind of maltreatment other Yoruba co-workers meted opposed to me. But something happened when I went to the Airport to board the plane to overseas. While we were about ten in number wanting to travel, the travel Agent came while I was on the Immigration Queue, waiting to board the plane and said that there was an error that instead of booking for 9 persons the space inside that plane could not accommodate all of us. It was overbooked so, one person should be dropped and Mr. Chibuzor Nwankwo you should not travel. Hey! I was mad at the man and I punched him and we started to fight at the Airport, Lagos and in the process, he tore my Visa approval page of my International Passport and I was stopped from travelling Overseas on that day. I later went back to my Yoruba man friend and Oga Tunde Pecku and narrated my ordeal to him and he reminded that I have more opportunities in Nigeria than to travel overseas to do menial jobs. In fact, at that time I wanted to travel overseas at all cost as I would not mind what kind of job I was going there to do. But do you know what all the nine persons who travelled on that fateful journey were all deported later. So, I remain grateful to Mr. Tunde Pecku for his advice if I had travelled to overseas I would not have been here today that is why I say God called me to do all these things healing people and helping the less-privileged people.”
WHY I REJECTED ROLLS ROYCE CAR GIFT FROM MY CHURCH
Can you just imagine that my church elders came together and bought a Rolls Royce Car gift for me, but I rejected it? Why? I told them to sell the Rolls Royce saloon car and use the money to build 30 more Free Schools for poor pupils whose parents cannot afford to pay fees. From the Bible reading of John Chapter 21 verses 6… are today are disciples doing the right thing? Read John chapter 8 verses 32″ And Ye shall Know the truth and the truth shall set you free…” that certain caliber of people are doing the wrong thing does not make it right. Every Pastor in town is building private schools using church offerings and tithes in building big schools and put the fees at some say N500,000 to N700,000 per child. This is wicked. Early Missionaries came with the building of missionary hospitals, Missionary schools and the worst thing is that most of the pastors building big schools and charging prohibitive fees all of them attended Missionary Schools. Omega Power Ministries is not just a church, but it is a Movement to reposition the people. God sent me on a Mission saying “’my son they can hate you but you have to do the right thing. There is Cabals in Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria—PFN and I refused to join them. Once you join them they will tie your mouth and you will be defeated. Many people will not understand what OPM is doing in building Free Schools; I am ready to starve myself to feed the poor. OPM Free restaurant is Open to all whether you worship with OPM or not I am ready to sleep on the street to accommodate the poor. There is need for free Schools in most parts of the country such as in Ondo state, Lagos state, Imo state, Rolls Royce car for my Birthday, why should I drive Rolls Royce car when there are many children not going to school. We need to open Free schools, Material things do not move me what moves me is Heaven, in Heaven you don’t age as you are renewed. I don’t need a Rolls Royce I need more money to build more Free Schools. I built Free estates and I went and brought Free sex Girls (Prostitutes) and accommodated them. I first got them Baptized 36 of them 9 are now married.
ON CRITICISM OF OPM AND ATTACK IN SOCIAL MEDIA
“I directed my OPM Media team not to respond to any attack against me on Social media. I said “Show them love” They say we use coconut –come I will dash you some coconuts. Many people are afraid because their source of fraud is being exposed. The best sermon is to continue to do the good thing. My birthday was on 22nd of October and by next birthday I will be opening 30-more Free schools. You cannot use evil to attack evil—show them Love. If you have love, you cannot collect money from offering and tithes and build big schools and deprive the church members’ children from attending that school because of high school fees”.
ON 11TH CHURCH FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
The story of how Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere began his Omega Power Ministries Worldwide church is said to have begun while he was in Lagos. It was in Lagos that he gave his life to Christ and he quickly returned to Port Harcourt to rescue his people. First, he joined one of the Ministries operating at Port Harcourt where he was in charge of Head of House Fellowship services. True to his calling, many house Fellowship attendees would stay back at the end of each service to relate and share their problems with Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere who would pray for them and testimonies would come in the subsequent fellowship about the positive results. But he became well known with his style of evangelism especially in Soul winning with early morning Preaching and preaching inside inter-city transport buses even taking the salvation messages to commercial sex workers at Rumuola Port Harcourt. He invested in God’s work via printing Bible tracts with his poor income then and he purchased Bible and distributed them freely to new coverts.
HOW OPM STARTED
After 4-years when he left his nominal church after several pressure from House Fellowship members, he was approached by Chief Lawson Obasi, CEO of SOBAZ Petroleum, now national president for Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria-IPMAN. Who brought his sick daughter for healing when all efforts from orthodox medical clinics and visits to some church pastors had failed Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere quickly compassionately healed her and the father requested what to do for the man of God whose major need that time was Praying ground accommodation and soon chief Obasi bought two plots of land along G.U Ake road Eliozu community Port Harcourt where OPM started in 2006.and after operating from Eliozu for about 10 years the Church moved to Mbodo Aluu in Greater Port Harcourt City with 580 plots of expanse land purchased and structures erected to accommodate more than 2-million worshippers all under one roof. There are more than 100 Satellites outreaches of OPM spread across the world with his wife Evangelist (Dr) Nkechinyere Chibuzor Chinyere heading United States of America—USA branches. At the age of 33, in 2006 Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere began his Omega Power Ministries Worldwide, which coincided with the end of Jesus Christ who ended his Ministry at the age of 33 .
WHEN 2-FORMER PROSTITUTES GOT RELIEF
Two ex-prostitutes were on that day granted free accommodation after they separately gave testimony in front of the over 2-million audience. Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere also granted a 14years old ex-Militant free accommodation and free Skill acquisition booking. Males are not given free money, but are equipped with, skills while women are offered money to start businesses after conversion and restitution.
ON CHURCH ACHIEVEMENTS
The General Overseer recounted “the Church has built seven branches of Free Schools in Abia and Rivers states with minimum of 800 students each, established Skill acquisition center as a way of curbing rate of restiveness and criminality in the state and opened Free restaurant that feeds about 300 persons on daily basis. We embark on the rehabilitation of cultists and criminals in the state. These men were pushed into Free Acquisition Center for Skilled work. Their children also benefitted from the Free School Scholarship. All these achievements and others not mentioned were possible from the Tithes and Offerings of members of OPM.”
ON HIS GRATITUDE
“I feel excited because at 44 years the achievements and what we have achieved is unprecedented. No human being can do it by his own strength but it was all possible by the grace of God. The church is just 11 years old and you are seeing the huge crowd it has. My special thanks go to the present Governor of Rivers State, NyesomWike, for releasing the OPM land.”
ON GOV. WIKE’S ADDRESS
Although he was absent, but the Rivers State Governor sent a powerful delegation led by Secretary –To-Rivers State –Government –SSG Honourable Kenneth Kobani, who delivered Governor Wike’s address “ Whenever the name of Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere is mentioned, it rings service to humanity. The one that touches me today is the work you have done in the lives of our repentant criminals. The Governor has asked me to commend you for what you have done in rehabilitating the repentant criminals. It is obvious that they have repented of their evil ways, but the polished way you took up their matters as if it is your personal matter has touched the governor of Rivers State. The Governor believes that when he sees you and the ways you work, he believes that it is God who is using you to work. Rivers State government wishes you well and supports you in what you do.”

The 44th birthday of General Overseer of OPM and the 11th Church Founding anniversary attracted several dignitaries who among them include the governor of Rivers state Nyesom EzenwoWike who was represented by Chief Kenneth Kobani the Secretary-To-state Government-SSG, Ambassador Desmond Akawor, the Director General of Greater Port Harcourt Development Authority, Nollywood actor 70 years old Pete Edochie, Chief Chika Okpara aka Zebrudaya Okoro Igwe Nwaogbo alias 4:30 of New Masquerade Tv Sitcom opera, Marine Engr. Greg Ogbuiefun, Chief Lawson Obasi, Mr Tunde Pecku former General Manager of British Airways and His Royal Highness Eze Nwankwo of Ndoki who decorated Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere with traditional Igbo clothe signifying royalty for an accomplished achiever
