At the 22nd City People Awards for Excellence held at The Lekki Coliseum, yesterday, Sunday 31st March 2019. Mr. Remi Awode won the Businessman of the Year award. Mr. Remi Awode is an accomplished businessman. He is the MD/CEO of Chemstar Paints Industrial Nigeria Limited. He started his working career as a Chemical Analyst with Bato Chemical Laboratories, Lagos in 1989.Â
In 1991, he left the company to join International Paints for West Africa Plc (IPWA) as a Paints Chemist. It was at IPWA that his passion for Paints manufacturing came to fore.
In 1994, he left IPWA and registered Chemstar Paints Industrial Nigeria Limited with the sole aim of manufacturing paints and allied products under the brand name FINECOAT PAINTS.
He set out as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Chemstar Paints and with self-determination to succeed. Mr. Remi Awode has taken the company to an enviable state. Today, to the glory of God, FINECOAT PAINT has become a household name in Nigeria.Â
Mr. Remi Awode has also set-up businesses in the Republic of South Africa and Ghana. His long chain of companies under Chemstar Group includes:
