Former Arsenal firepower, Alexis Sanchez often eats alone in the Manchester United canteen because of the extra training sessions he puts in at Old Trafford, according to reports.
Much was expected of Sanchez after he joined the Red Devils in January in a straight swap deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but he has struggled to adapt to his new surroundings.
In ten appearances for United, the Chile forward has scored just once, often appearing frustrated with his teammates on the pitch.
Sanchez’s form has not been the only concern following his January switch, however, with reports suggesting United fear he is isolating himself at the club.
The 29-year-old has been pictured eating along in United’s canteen at Carrington but the Daily Star says this is because he is often the last player off the training ground.
Sanchez is a notoriously hard worker and a club source said: “There is an explanation for Sanchez eating alone at Carrington.
“He regularly does an extra 30 minutes working on free-kicks and shooting after the main session has finished up.
“By the time he has showered and changed, the majority of his team-mates have finished eating and gone.”
Sanchez had developed into one of Arsenal’s most influential players after joining the Gunners from Barcelona in 2014.
He is yet to show that level of form for United, however, and admits he has been disappointed with his performances for the Red Devils.
