Tuesday 7th February 2023, a popular pro-Sanwo Olu group in Lagos, Sanwo-Olu Ambassadors presented cash awards of N7000 each to 40 prospective JAMB/UMTE indigent candidates across Lagos State.
According to the release made available to the press, the group’s leader and director general, Amb (Hajia) Tai Elemesho-Okesanjo, stated that the idea of supporting indigent students with cash to purchase UTME forms is a result of her passion and strong belief in the education of the youth, and in tandem with the group’s principal THEMES agenda that she initiated and sourced for the sponsor of the award in Chief Komolafe, who gracefully released cash for the award.
While presenting the awards to the 22 beneficiaries who attended the presentation event, the DG urged the awardees to ensure that they make the sponsor and the group proud by ensuring that they use the cash for the procurement of their forms only.
The DG also promised those who attended that other beneficiaries who couldn’t make the presentation would have their awards transferred to them with immediate effect as she reiterated that the closing date of the registration for examination remains Tuesday 14th February 2023.
In his welcome remarks to the beneficiaries, the State Coordinator, Amb. Otunba Hammed Gafar, who introduced himself as a core educationist enjoined the beneficiaries to be exceptional in their performances in the examination. He stated that their posting of remarkable results and successes would translate to a genuine appreciation for the initiator, sponsor and the group as a whole.
In her response and votes of thanks, and while expressing their gratitude, one of the beneficiaries in attendance profusely appreciated all involved in making the sponsorship a reality. She assured the group of the readiness of the beneficiaries to perform excellently well in the examination to the pride of God and mankind.
The event took place at the State Secretariat of the group at ROTKEM Property Office, 5 Asenuga Street, off Openi-Oregun Link Bridge, Opebi Bus Stop, Ikeja, Lagos State.
