Erelu Mojisola Omisore is the beautiful, amiable wife of a former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore. She is also one of the happening and society women rocking the Osun State social scene. But what many people do not know is that she is currently a regent in Ado Ekiti. Yes! Erelu Mojisola Omisore is the Regent of OISA of Ado Ekiti, one of the strongest Chieftaincy stools and highly respected title in Ado Ekiti. The late High Chief Julius Adeleye Fashubaa, her father was the Oisa of Ado Ekiti before his demise last year.
Regent Mojisola Omisore took many by surprise with her appearance and outfit on Friday 23rd, 2021, at the celebration of life for her late father, High Chief Julius Adeleye Fashubaa. She dressed completely in Embroidery Agbada, as she walks into the hall majestically with her husband, Senator Iyiola Omisore amidst loud hailing and praises, obviously, from the aged women of Oisa of Ado Ekiti dynasty.Â
Why did she appear in a male outfit? How did she become the regent of Oisa of Ado Ekiti? Why must a chief title has a regent when it’s not a king? These and many other questions were asked at this one-in-town party by the guests who came to felicitate with them. Meanwhile, some people did not even know she’s from Ado Ekiti not to talk of being a regent.
In our findings, City People gathered that Oisa of Ado Ekiti is one of the biggest titles and positions in Ado Ekiti that cannot be viewed with levity, and the position has to do with being the head of all the traditional magistrate in Ekiti The late Chief Julius Adeleye Fashubaa, an accomplished man who in his lifetime was a retired School Principal was the head Magistrate of all traditional courts in Ekiti State.
The installation of Erelu Mojisola Omisore, a Barrister and Solicitor, who is currently the Director, Special Duties in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as the Regent of Oisa of Ado Ekiti came after the demise of her father, High Chief Adeleye Fashubaa, in February 2020, who was the holder of the title, even though Erelu Mojisola is the second child, but the first daughter of the Fashubaa’s family. And the reason she was appointed could be the fact that her brother, Pastor Felix Fashubaa, the firstborn of the family, who is also expected to hold forth the stool is a Pastor or probably because of her status. Don’t forget that Erelu Mojisola Omisore is a barrister and solicitor by profession and the stool we are talking about has to do with the head of all traditional magistrates in Ekiti State.
And about her outfits as custom demands she also has to appear in a male outfit because she’s representing a stronger chieftaincy, a well respected one at that and ordinarily belongs to a man.
Recall that on Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd, 2021, was a remarkable day for the family of Fashubaa, a popular family in Ado Ekiti, as they celebrated their late father, grandfather & great-grandfather, High Chief Julius Adeleye Fashubaa, the Oisa of Ado Ekiti in grand style.
The late High Chief Julius Adeleye Fashubaa was Senator Iyiola Omisore’s father-in-law and that explains why the event was recorded as a one-in-town event. It also explains why many dignitaries stormed Ado Ekiti, to celebrate with the family of Fashubaa and Omisore. Meanwhile, Sen. Omisore’s wife, Mojisola, is also the Regent of Oisa of Ado Ekiti.
The celebration of life for the late High Chief Julius AdeleyeFashubaa commenced on Thursday, 22nd of July with prayer at Baba’s tomb. On that same day, a street named after Baba was also commissioned by the Chairman, Ado Ekiti Local Government Chairman, Chief (Mrs) Omotunde Fajuyi. This was followed by Ayo competition and traditional music entertainment at his residence, situated at Owode Street, Odo Ado, Ado Ekiti.
On the D-Day, Friday 23rd, the entertainment of guests took place at AB Event Centre, Opopo Gbooro, Ado- Ekiti, and it was, indeed, a fun-filled day for all the guests, as waves-making Gospel Musician, Yinka Ayefele thrilled guests.
Among the dignitaries who graced this event was, the first lady of Osun State, Her Excellency Mrs. Kafilat Oyetola and her entourage, former Governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko, Mr. Seyi Oduntan, Rotimi Makinde, Otunba Demola Popoola and a host of others.
