SENATOR YAYI WINS OGUN WEST SENATE SEAT

The Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District, Senator Solomon Adeola Yayi has been declared winner of the Ogun West Senatorial District Primary elections held last Saturday.

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Adeola defeated his close rival, Senator Tolu Odebiyi, scoring 294 votes cast by the 295 accredited delegates.

OSOBA’S SON WINS HOUSE OF REPS TICKET

Hon. Olumide Osoba has won. He is on his way back to the House of Reps. He is Aremo Olusegun Osoba’s son. He is the current House of Reps Member representing Abeokuta North/Odeda/Obafemi Owode Federal Constituency. This is his 3rd time.

He won the party ticket at the end of the primaries held in his federal constituency on Friday, having scored 118 votes to defeat other contestants, which include Taiwo Oludotun, popularly called Twinny, who polled 40 votes and Adegbenga Adeshina who polled 30 votes.

GNI BOUNCES BACK

This is big news. It is the news of how Prince Gboyega Isiaka, popularly called GNI scored all votes at the APC primary to fly the party’s flag in the forthcoming House of Reps election to represent Yewa North/Imeko Federal Constituency. Isiaka, worked so hard and garnered the votes of all the 103 accredited delegates held at the Ayetoro Town Hall.

All the other contestants which included former Ogun State Speaker, Rt. Hon. Suraj Adekunbi, Hon. Jimoh Olaifa, Engr. Tope Kuyebi, Hon. Kayode Oladele, Alhaji Wasiu Isiaka and Mr. Femi Ashamu stepped down for him.

KORO’S SON LOSES TO OYEKANMI ELEGUSHI

Hon. Babajide Obanikoro, the House of Reps member representing Eti-Osa Federal Constituency has lost his 2nd term bid at the APC House of Reps primaries.

Babajide is the son of Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, a former Minister. Jide lost the APC ticket with a 2-vote difference to Mr. Oyekanmi Elegushi, a brother to Oba Saheed Elegushi of the Ikate Kingdom. Obanikoro scored 23 votes to Elegushi’s 25 votes at the primaries held at the Iru/ Victoria Island LCDA in Lagos. The 3rd contestant Adegoke Rasaq scored two 50 delegates who participated in the exercise.

FEMI GBAJABIAMILA SET FOR 6TH TERM

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has won the APC ticket for the 6th term, unopposed for Surulere Federal Constituency 1. The election had 30 Adhoc delegates drawn from 9 wards in the constituency. The Speaker polled all the 30 votes as the sole contestant for the ticket.

LAI MOHAMMED’S SON LOSES 3RD TERM TICKET

This is sad news as Hon. Folajimi Mohammed, son of Minister of Information & Culture, Lai Mohammed lost at the primaries last weekend. Folajinmi sought for a 3rd term ticket to represent Ikeja State Constituency 1 at the Lagos House of Assembly on the platform of APC. He polled 9 votes in the election, while his rival Seyi Lawal who was declared the winner garnered 15 votes.

ONLY FEMALE REP IN OYO STATE, AKANDE-SADIPE WINS

A member of the House of Reps and the only female federal lawmaker from Oyo State, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe on Friday, 27th May 2022 won the APC contest for the ticket of Oluyole Federal Constituency.

She defeated 4 other aspirants: Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, Hon. Sumbo Olugbemi, Hon. Kehinde Olaosebikan and Hon. Adegboyega Rasheed to clinch the keenly contested party ticket held at CRIN in Ibadan. A total of 39 of the 50 delegates drawn from 10 wards of Oluwole Local Government came out for the primary election.

Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, currently represents the Oluwole Federal Constituency at the House of Reps, Abuja.

APC CANDIDATES EMERGE IN MUSHIN & ODI-OLOWO OJUWOYE LCDA

4 candidates have emerged from this zone. They are Hon. Yinka Kazeem Esho, (House of Assembly) Hon. Toyin Fayinka (House of Reps), Hon. Nureni Ayinde Akinsanya (OSMAK) and Hon. Yemi Alli with 35 votes.

Hon. Kazeem Esho won with 16 votes while Hon. Sobur Olayiwola Olawale had 11 votes. Hon. Kabarb Isiba, 1 vote and others like Hon. Toyin Aremu, Hon. Wale Arogundade, Hon. Olasupo Morgan had nil votes.

In addition, Hon. Toyin Fayinka won with 18 votes, while Hon. Seye Oladejo 8 votes, Hon. Bolaji Yusuf Ayinla 2 votes, Hon. Ramon Taiwo 1 vote and Hon. Alli Balogun nil votes.

HON. WASIU ESHINLOKUN WINS

The Deputy Speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly, Hon. Wasiu Eshinlokun has won the Lagos Central Senatorial Primary election. Eshinlokun polled 185 votes out of 304 votes, while Apatira polled 22 votes, Ambassador Ademola Seriki polled 97 votes and Hon. Oyinlomo Danmola polled no vote.

IDIAT ADEBULE WINS

Former Lagos Deputy Governor, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule has been declared winner of APC Lagos West Senatorial District Primary held at Agege Stadium, Agege. Adebule defeated former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro and one-time Lagos Commissioner for Transportation, Kayode Opeifa.

We gathered that Opeifa’s quest to withdraw from the race was rebuffed by the electoral committee as voting had commenced before he announced his decision.

OGD COASTS HOME TO VICTORY

In APC Ogun East Senatorial primaries, Otunba Gbenga Daniel won unopposed as the incumbent Senator Lekan Mustapha stepped down. After a marathon meeting held by OGD and the incumbent Senator, Lekan Mustapha, with the Awujale, the Senator stepped down for Daniel. The withdrawal was unannounced at the venue of the Primary by the former Commissioner of Health, Dr. Babatunde Ipaye.

LAGOS  SPEAKER WINS UNOPPOSED

In Lagos, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly has won the APC primary election without any opponent. He has been declared the APC candidate for Agege Constituency after polling the entire 25 votes cast by the delegates. The Speaker won the election without an opponent.

GOV. ABIODUN’S CHIEF OF STAFF WINS

Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Salisu (SAS) the Chief of Staff to Gov. Dapo Abiodun has emerged the candidate for Ogun Central Senatorial slot, beating others like Senator Obadara.
