How do you feel being among the musician currently making waves in the industry?

I thank God Almighty for everything, he has indeed been faithful and I will forever remain grateful. Then for my success and achievement, I will say I am worth it, I have really worked and I feel, God has just decided to pay me for all my hardwork and dedication I have been around since 2001, and that is like 17 years ago, so seeing all these happening now, is something I have always been waiting and longing for, so I am not surprise with all that is happening, I have always craved for it and to the special grace of God, it’s all happening, so I give him all the glory. I owe everything to God. My greatest desire in life is to see all my dreams come to pass, which I believe, some are already happening.

Did you ever envisage coming this far in your career?

Yes, definitely, I have always had a bigger dream compared to what is happening now, and I know, all will still come to pass. I have always had dream of staging a very big concert, performing in front of large crowd, seeing people craving for my song going on an international trips and performing outside the country with large crowd in big time concert and pulling so much crowd. So I have been waiting patiently to see all my dreams come to pass, so now, that some have started happening, honestly, I am super excited.

How were you able topull so much crowd for your concert. Agege was shot down?

To be sincere, everything that has to do with that concert was planned and organised in less than a month. Like I earlier said, it is something I have always wanted and dreamt of, so I had the dream already on my head, so all I did was just to sketch it out. I spoke to my team and they put it to work and it became a huge success. If you have a good team, coupled with hardwork, commitment and dedication, things will surely work out well. So that was what happened in my case.

Why the choice of Agegefor your concert?

I choose Agege stadium in Lagos, mainly because of my crowd, then because I am different and unique in my own way. I am a man of the people and it is necessary to give back to my society. The same people have been the ones supporting me from onset, so I want them to be happy and also feel very important, because they are to me, moreover Island can not accommodate my crowd.

How do you get yoursongs?

I go extra miles to make my songs, because I always want the best of everything, I always want to impress my fans, I personally created a particular sound for myself, so anywhere you hear that sound, you will know that, it is Small Doctor’s song. I always want to be unique and original.

Do you write yoursongs?

Yes I do. I write my songs.

Where do you getinspiration from?

I get them from my mum, she is my strength, I get lyrics from what she says, from our daily conversation, she is my biggest inspiration, my backbone and everything. When we talk, so many things comes into my head, and that has helped my career a whole lot.

How does she feel now, with your achievement?

She is indeed proud, and also, she has always known, I will achieve lots in life, considering all the hardwork, I have put and the dedication. She supported my dream from the beginning, she encouraged me and has always been there for me.

You tend to maintain avery cordial relationship with people in the industry, young and old how do youdo that?

This is not self appraisal though, but the truth of the matter, is that I am a very humble and friendly person, and I enjoy relating to people, I don’t allow anything especially fame get into my head, I was also brought up to give respect to whom respect is due, I relate well with all my mates in the industry and also my seniors. I guess people like me for that. I don’t discriminate or look down on people.

What are the challenges you have been faced with in the industry?

There are several challenges, it is just left for you to apply wisdom and scale through. Once you are patient and determined, and with God by your side. You will definitely scale through. As a human being challenges are normal, they make one stronger and more determined, so just do things that will increase and improve you for your future and career.

Are you working on anyalbum?

No, I have lots of singles out there, so I am just going to put them together and that will give us an album.

Can you share light onwhat really happened between you and the police?

It was just a mere misconception on the side of the police to me, and it has been sorted out. I have younger ones looking up to me in the industry and can’t afford to disappoint them. I have a licenced to a gun and was shocked to hear that I was with illegal firearms.

I can’t afford any illegal activity. The issue I had with the police, even made my concert more successful. Many more of my fans came to the concert, to see if truly, the case was over and I was okay. I will forever be grateful for the love and support from my fans.

What should your fans be expecting from you in 2019?

Definitely, more beautiful songs, album release, I will always work extra to give them my best.
