Smart Book Club is a prominent Non-Governmental Organisation in Nigeria that focuses on promoting reading culture among the youths and adults in the country.
Recently, Smart Book Club clocked 3 years of invaluable existence. Among the plans put in place to celebrate the club and what it stands for, the executive members led by its founder and president, the erudite Tito Obaigbo on Friday 28th May, 2021 reached out to pupils of Community Primary School in Magodo, Lagos state. This is in a bid to complement and encourage the pupils on the need to imbibe the culture of reading as it would enlighten and make them stand out among their peers.
The group thereby presented gift items to the pupils and their teachers in celebration of the club’s anniversary and the May 27th Children’s Day which was held the previous day. Notable among these gift items are school bags, toilet soaps, detergents, books, writing materials, and face mask. Meanwhile outstanding pupils in character and academics were given accolades to motivate them and to spur others to be up and doing.
While addressing the pupils on the school’s assembly ground, Obaigbo promised the school that the organization would frequently visit them and support outstanding students in their academics.
The entire management of the school thereby extolled the group for their benevolence; they prayed that God would enlarge the coast of the organization and its generous donors.

Speaking with CityPeople Magazine, the welfare and social secretary of the club, Ololade Adeshakin said their visit to the school was in line with its’ “Project School Library” aimed at equipping schools’ libraries with literature materials. She said doing this is a core area of the club’s Corporate Social Responsibility. She however called on like minds to join the club as they are bent on achieving a more enlightened Nigerians in the future capable of leading the country to greatness.
