Following the startling news of Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja‘s passing as Chief of Army Staff, Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has expressed his condolences to His Excellency, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Army, and the bereaved family.
In a release signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Governor Soludo extended his sincere condolences on the death of the Late Chief of Army Staff which occurred on Tuesday, 5th November 2024, at the age of 56.
The Governor stated that the demise of the Army chief is a huge loss to the Nigerian Army and the entire nation, considering his laudable role in the advancement of security in the country.
Governor Soludo affirmed that General Lagbaja’s exceptional conduct as the head of the Nigerian Army would be distinctively remembered, serving as a tribute to his uncompromising commitment to the nation’s unity and progress.
While acknowledging the Late Army Chief’s commitment to peace and stability, he added that his leadership in the Benue State Operation ZAKI, Lafiya Dole, Udoka, and Forest Sanity will be remembered for good. He prayed that Almighty God should grant General Lagbaja’s soul eternal rest.
