Wife, SADE, Reflects On Life @ 60

Her 36 Year Marriage Anniversary

How do you feel today turning 60?

I feel on top of the world. I feel very happy and celebrated. I thank God for everything. I was only 40 days old when I lost my mum  So, each passing year of my life further tells me that God has been faithful to me.l always thank God for making me see another day. I give God the glory and adoration for making this day possible. It is not in my doing but God that has kept me this far.

If you look back, what can you say about life at 60?

God has been faithful to me in many ways. Just imagine a 40 days baby survived without a mother, and not only did I grow, I have grown well up to 60 (years), this is one of the fulfillment I have gotten attaining this age. It is indeed a privilege. I will always praise God from everlasting to everlasting because he spared my life till today.

Any reflections on life in the past 60 years and your wishes in the years to come?

Well, I have gotten to a stage that living my life for God is very important. I have achieved many good things in life and God has been faithful since the beginning. The next years to come! well I don’t know because man proposes, God disposes, whatever God needs me to do or wants to do with my life is perfectly okay by me. So I pray my many years to come will be more greater than my former; to keep seeing my children’s children and to live the rest of my life appreciating God.  When God moves forward, I follow him, I will only go by his direction.

Today also marked your 36years in marriage which is a laudable achievement in marital life, how have you kept yours for this long?

It is not by my power, It is the grace of God. I have had a lot of patience; that has been one of the keys that made my marriage work. Two impatient souls can not last together;  taking and doing things patiently has worked for me;. knowing and acknowledging that my husband is the head also helped me in a great way. Wives should be submissive to their husbands.

How has it been being married to your husband who happens to be a very busy man with the kind of profession he does that takes him out of the house every time. How have you been able to run your home and keep it along?

It has been the grace of God. When I sit down and I look at everything, I just realize God has done well. He has taught me how to manage my home. It is  not me but my God. Being married to my husband has been one of the best things that happened to me. In his profession, he is everybody’s friend and to his family ,he is a caring father and loving husband. Being married to a seasoned broadcaster like my husband has not been an easy task but a woman keeps her home firm. Patience has helped me get this far.I thank God I have been able to hold my home together despite many ups and down which is bound to happen in marriage.

How did you meet your husband?

We met in Ibadan, I was in a school of cosmetologist then. He came to the school with his friend to see one of my colleagues so they met me and I helped them in getting my colleague. So when I left them, later my colleagues came back to tell me that he wants to see me and I went. So, he asked for my name and since then he has always been a recurring decimal at my school. coming to check on me. Later we started dating and here we are today celebrating 36 years of God’s faithfulness in our marriage.
