The Alara of ILARA Set To Host 2021 EBI Festival & KILAJOLU Day

HRM The Alara of llara,Oba Dr Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo is getting ready to celebrate the annual Ebi Festival and Kilajolu Day at his Palace in ilara,Eredo LCDA,Epe,Lagos State.

A few days back Citypeople got kabiyeesi to reveal a lot more about the 2 events holding in a few days time.

According to the Alara,”the Annual Ebi Festival  is an event that takes place every year to pray for the peace, progress and development of Ilara Kingdom and its environs.And it culminates with the Kilajolu Day.”

What do we expect on that day?

” The event will witness display by the Kilajolu as well as other Masquerades. The Kilajolu will pray for the King,all dignitaries and the entire Kingdom while the King will also pray in turn. The Kilajolu will thereafter use the cane to beat the King before going to the Community to beat others. It’s usually  a very interesting and ecstatic festival. This year’s edition is special and unique being my first on the throne of my forebears and is repackaged to showcase our rich culture and tradition. We are expecting many of our Brother Obas to celebrate with us from the South West to be led by the Ooni Adimula of Ile Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojoja II. The after party will have Queen Salawa Abeni, one of our illustrious daughters on the bandstand. It promises to be one of it’s kind by the grace of God.”

What has been his experience as the Alara?

“My experience in the past eight months of my ascension has been very eventful and gratifying, though it comes with it’s challenges. However,  we are forging ahead to bring development and prosperity to our people with the help of God and our collaborative partners.”
